Na'el is a character from the Future Redeemed DLC of Xenoblade Chronicles 3. She is the younger sister of Matthew, who searches for her after she goes missing.
History[]
Fifteen years before Future Redeemed, Na'el and Matthew's parents were killed during a Moebius raid, and the two were raised and trained by their grandfather Ghondor in the City as a result. Na'el was skilled at playing the piano, and children of the city would request songs for her to play. One of these children was a girl named Chyra, who Na'el became friends with. One day, Chyra and her family left with some other settlers to found a second City. However, the group was found and massacred by Kevesi soldiers. Na'el and Matthew found and defeated soldiers shortly after, with Chyra's death having a deep impact on Na'el.
Sometime later, Na'el and Matthew collected Ether Cylinders outside the City and fought some Fogbeasts who attacked them. As they returned, Na'el found the core of Ontos on the ground and picked it up. Not long after the City was attacked by N. Na'el looked at Ontos's core, allowing Alpha to possess her. The possessed Na'el fought N, with N killing Ghondor when he jumped in front of his attack. Ghondor uses the last of his Ouroburos power to try and free Na'el from Alpha, but he is only able to split off his conscience, who emerges as A, and the City is destroyed.
While Matthew meets A and they search for City survivors, Na'el searches for survivors to send to the Ark in Origin. Eventually she finds Matthew at Raguel Lake, where she tries to convince him to join her, but A, Shulk, and Rex inform him that she is Alpha. They battle before N intervenes and nearly kills Na'el, but is blocked by Matthew's Ouroburos power.
Later on the party battles N outside Origin before Na'el sends a bolt of lightning to shock him. Alpha then sends out a fog that sends the party to Origin's memories. In this memory, which is from a suburban town in the year 20XX, Na'el plays the piano for some children. Na'el again tries to convince Matthew to join her, but A shows her the land of Morytha, the ruins of Klaus's failed experiment, and what will happen to the world if she continues. Matthew tells Na'el she could be no different from Moebius if she continues with her plan. Na'el is convinced and tries to join the party, but Alpha takes control of her and disappears. The party battles Alpha, and after a while N appears and strikes Alpha by surprise, freeing Na'el, before they defeat Alpha.
Following this Na'el joins Matthew, Glimmer, Nikol, Panacea, and Linka in founding the second City. Matthew says goodbye to Na'el and the others and departs to find the remaining survivors of the first City.
According to her statue in the modern City, Na'el laid the cornerstones for much of the City's governance and legal system. The records of her wherabouts after the destruction of the first City were lost, as the founders did not tell the others what exactly happened with Alpha. The modern City also only speculates on the familial relation between Na'el and Matthew. As the founder of House Doyle, Na'el is likely the ancestor of Garrett and his daughter Joulietta.
Trivia[]
- Na'el bears a resemblance to early concept art of Nia.
