Morths are small urchin-like enemies in the Zelda series. They are often found in swarms and are usually harmless aside from massively slowing Link down, which turns them into a deadly hazard if more serious sources of damage are near them.
Zelda series[]
The Wind Waker[]
In The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, they mainly appear in the Forbidden Woods but can also occasionally be seen in other wooden areas. If Link is near them, they will slowly close in before latching onto him, hampering his movements. Link can easily free himself by performing a Spin Attack, which kills them or just by rolling. Morths are also occasionally released by Mothulas and some are even released by Puppet Ganon during his boss battle.
Tri Force Heroes[]
In The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes, Morths appear in certain Levels of The Dunes area of the Drablands, and in the Desert Zone of the Den of Trials. Morths are always in groups of three, and will immediately slow down the Link they manage to attach to. When attached, the Morths prevent the Link from dashing and cannot be removed without the help of another Link who can use one of his weapons to kill them. Morths often appear in areas with a lot of sand, which makes them very dangerous as their slowing grip can potentially make their tareget susceptible to sinking in quicksand. Morths will die immediatly if Link steps onto an active Triforce Gateway. Morths that attempt to attach onto a Link wearing the Cacto Clothes will die immediately upon contact.
Descriptions[]
The Wind waker Figurine[]
"These creatures attack in groups and cling to the bodies of their prey. A Spin Attack is the best way to shake them off. They're light and vulnerable to Deku Leaf blasts."
Tingle's comment[]
"Eeek! Morths! Fan them away with the Deku Leaf before they can stick to you! If they stick to you, use your rolling attack to shake them loose."
