The Goron Tunic is an equipment item from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. It is type of armor, crafted (though not worn) by the mountain-dwelling Goron people. As the Gorons are one of Hyrule's closest allies, the Goron Tunic is designed to accommodate Hylian's men's fashion and allow non-Gorons access to Death Mountain's volcanic crater. It even come with a matching red chaperon to keep ash and embers out of one's hair. They are made using a combination of Bomb Flower fibers and the hide and scales of a Dodongo. It reduces the amount of damage Link takes from fire attacks. The Goron Tunic also prevents Link from suffering heatstroke while inside Death Mountain Crater and is necessary to complete the Fire Temple. There two ways to obtain this item: one way is to purchase it at the Goron shop for 200 rupees, while the other way is to obtain is as a gift from Darunia's son. If Link gets eaten by a Like Like while wearing the Goron Tunic, it will strip him of the garment and he will have to defeat it quickly if he want's to get it back.

Other Games[]
The Goron Tunic appears in Super Smash Bros., Super Smash Bros. Melee and Soulcalibur II as on alternate costume of Link. In Melee and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate it is also an alternate costume for Young Link, even though Link was not able to wear the Goron Tunic as a child. It also appears in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U and Hyrule Warriors albeit designed after the Hero of Twilight's tunic rather than the Hero of Time. All of these appearances are cosmetic differences only and don't offer Link any extra resistance to fire attacks.
Trivia[]
- The colors of Link's three tunics in Ocarina of Time match the colors of The Three Golden Goddesses who created Hyrule. The red Goron Tunic represents the goddess Din, who created the stone, soil and "red earth" with her flaming arms.
