Déjà Vu is a point and click game. The NES version is a 1990 port of a 1985 home computer game developed by ICOM Simulations. It's part of the "Macventure Trilogy" for the NES along with Shadowgate and Uninvited.

Plot[]

The player controls an amnesia victim who wakes up in a toilet stall in a seedy bar. Examining their surroundings soon reveals they're wanted for murder and kidnapping.

Gameplay[]

Players interact with the game by using a list of verbs to perform various actions (open, hit, use, etc.) on a display in the corner showing the nearby area.

Development[]

A port of the sequel, Deja Vu II: Lost in Las Vegas, was in development at one time, but scrapped seemingly because it would've been released too late in the NES's lifespan to be viable. Both games were released on the Game Boy Color as Déjà Vu I & II: The Casebooks of Ace Harding.
