Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Happy Home Paradise is the paid downloadable content for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and the game's only one. It is available for download and/or through access via the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service. It is a successor to the spin-off 3DS game Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer.
Gameplay[]
Similar to Happy Home Designer, players design and create new homes for clients at an islandic setting. Players would see the clients' desired style of housing such as an arcade home, indicating the objectives for each one. Once a client is selected, he or she gives some pictures of their preferred objects to be included. Next, players would choose an island of their choice before they start decorating the selected house with furniture and other household items. Inside, players can add lighting, sound ambiences, partition walls and pillars, and the size of the interior is adjustable. Clients would also come in pairs as "roommates".
For the outdoors, players can add fences, logs, tables, trees, etc. The house's facade design is also changable, along with the time, season, and weather. It is also possible to remodel creations.
In addition to houses, players can also build and design workplaces such as schools, restaurants, and hospitals.
Players will earn Poki currency as they work in the game, which can be used to buy additional items and furniture.
Techniques learned in this mode are applicable in a player's own house in the base game.
Happy Home Network[]
Players can view their work and interact with clients through the Happy Home Network in-game application. Players can also view the creations of other players globally through an internet connection. There's an option to visit the locations of other creations.
Amiibo[]
Using Animal Crossing-themed amiibo and amiibo cards will summon characters of the figure/card used for generating new design ideas.
