Overview |
The Wind World or Windworld, was an arena that was featured in Mortal Kombat 4.
Overview
This region was a desolate landscape, where it constantly rained, and boulders continuously fell from the mountain side. The battle area was the home to Fujin, as well as his place of meditation. The Wind World is a stage in both MK4 and Mortal Kombat Gold. The Elder Gods can be seen up in the sky when lightning strikes. In fact, in Raiden's ending within both MK4 and MKG, the thunder god stands before the face of one of the Elder Gods, acting as their avatar, congratulating him for his chosen Earthrealm warriors, who had defeated Shinnok and his Army of Darkness, and also tells Raiden that he has earned his place within the pantheon of the Elder Gods.
They are fighting on the surface of a raised circular platform among others in the mountains of the far east. Thunder and lightning fill the dark sky as it rains heavily on the fighting area. Faces can occasionally be seen looking down at the fight.
The background music for this stage can be heard in the ending credits.
Trivia
- This arena's first appearance was once also in Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero as part of the fabled Temple of Elements when the elder Sub-Zero visits the upper atmosphere guarded by Fujin. The wind god Fujin resides in this domain. The existence of thunder and lightning with huge gusts of wind shows Raiden's influence in this arena.
