യംഗോൺ

ബർമയിലെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ നഗരവും മുൻ തലസ്ഥാനവുമാണ് യംഗോൺ അഥവാ റംഗൂൺ. 2006 മാർച്ചിൽ ബർമ ഭരിക്കുന്ന സൈനിക സർക്കാർ തലസ്ഥാനം നയ്പ്യിഡാവിലേക്ക് മാറ്റി. എങ്കിലും 40 ലക്ഷം ജനസംഖ��യയുള്ള യംഗോൺ ഇപ്പോഴും രാജ്യത്തെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ നഗരവും ഏറ്റവും പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ട വാണിജ്യ കേന്ദ്രവുമായി തുടരുന്നു. 598.75 ചതുരശ്ര കിലോമീറ്ററാണ് നഗരത്തിന്റെ വിസ്തൃതി.
