Plot[]
Fontana and Green investigate when a bank manager is involved in the robbing of his own bank and learn that his daughter is being held hostage and that he had to go along with the robbery or risk losing his daughter. One man is killed in the robbery, but the two detectives track down his accomplice and, while alone with Mitchell Lowell, Fontana uses extreme force to get the answers he needs, prompting Lowell's lawyer to claim that all the information Fontana obtained is "fruit of the poisonous tree." McCoy works to fight the claim of police brutality while also trying to find a way to get around Fontana's actions.

Quotes[]
Borgia: So, after all this... I ask Judge Mellon for remand without bail and this clown let's it go without objection.
McCoy: Does this "clown" have a name?
Borgia: [Giggling] Squirt. Dworkin... Andy or something.
McCoy: He's definitely not a clown, Alex.
Borgia: [Still giggling] You didn't see him.
McCoy: I did on two prior occasions. Randy Dworkin is very, very smart.
Dworkin: [Interupts] And cute as a button, Miss Borgia.
McCoy: ...Under some circumstances torture is not only justifiable it's obligatory.
Borgia: That's right...to finding a ticking nuclear device hidden somewhere in New York City.
McCoy: So, it's okay to torture someone to save a million lives?
Borgia: There's at least an argument for it.
McCoy: What if the bomb wasn't in New York City? What if it was in Rugby, North Dakota where only a couple of thousand people would be at risk?
