What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday!

Not so much a picture of my desk this week, more to the left of it! So it wouldn't be a Wednesday without a cat featuring somewhere! As soon as the sewing machine came out of the drawer she was in there!
As for projects - well a couple of posts back I worked on my 'Home' plaque - my very clever dad made the plaques (all 27 of them, he sort of got a production line going!) and I went to town with the papers - Fancy Pants - Roadshow and Prima flowers.  Picturing the finished plaque here ...

If you've been a visitor to my blog before you may have noticed this week it has had a revamp - only took about 4 hours! I have a serious affliction of pressing the wrong buttons at the wrong time - sorted eventually.

I'm off to a scrapbooking retreat this weekend, three heavenly days of scrapping, eating, bit of swimming if I find the time(!) and a bit more scrapping.  I hope to get lots done and feature my pages on here soon.
Have a good week everyone - keep warm :-)

Wooden Plaque - 'Home'

Just a few posts back I mentioned that my darling dad had made me a wooden plaque - (actually he's gone into super production and made 28 so see me if you would like one.. or two!)  I used some gorgeous Fancy Pants - Roadshow papers, Prima flowers and few other bits and bobs and created this.

I'm pleased with the way it turned out so my 'Home' plaque is going on display at home today! :-) xx

Chicken Soup - Recipe #17

Hi everyone,
So ready for a challenge?  This is this week's inspiration for Chicken Soup  I was delighted as beads are right up my street and I even managed to stamp a clock!  So here is my layout making full use of a new Martha Stewart punch and a fair amount of butterflies!  Join in and have fun :-)

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday!

So here we are again and this is the work desk this week.  Have you ever wondered what to do with an empty slice desktop storage unit... stick a cat in it!  I am rarely alone in my craft space, there is always a fur baby around somewhere.  And, keeping with the theme of cats here is a page I've just completed featuring Karla - not actually one of my own, she belongs to my sister, she's got pedigree as she's a Bengal (I'm referring to the cat here, not my sister!)
I also amazed myself and made a card (a rare occurrence).  A lovely friend of mine is moving home and she deserves a special card and here it is...

Come back and visit soon as I will be posting some Chicken Soup news and call by Julia's place to join the craze that is WOYWW.  Have a lovely week all you nice people out there!

Wooden Plaques

What do you think?  Yes a very blank plaque!  But what is absolutely great is that my darling dad made this for me and in fact he has informed me he can make dozens!  So here it is 'naked' and very soon you will see how I've altered this piece of wooden loveliness :-)  Christine x

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday!

I've been a bit like Tigger this week - excitedly bouncing about.  My first layout as a design team member went 'live' on Friday night for Chicken Soup and I'm delighted to be working with such talented ladies.   Yesterday I took a trip out to Barleylands Craft Village in Essex - oh what a dreamy shops.

So my desk - here it is - I'm so aware that each week you must see my same little tool bag with Bagpuss but at least this time you get to see my black and white floral box with jars of buttons in. Also I must get round to filling up my three tiered basket - shouldn't be too difficult!  I'm working on a page using plenty of 'mist' - love it, I'm going to 'need' more I'm sure.

And here's the desk being occupied by a non-crafter!
And the finished layout once I reclaimed my table ...
Also just outside my window I treated myself to a beautiful pot of happy daisy flowers - I'm sure there is a correct horticultural name for them but to me they are happy daisy flowers!

I love visiting all your desks. Have a great week everyone.  Christine xx

A Walk in the Park

Yesterday was a grey day, all day!  Despite that Elliott and I went to Greenwich Park and played about with the camera.  This was one of the shots that I'm delighted with - he still looks like my little boy here and not the teenager he really is :-)

Chicken Soup - Recipe #15

Here it is.. my first recipe as a Chef on the Design Team for Chicken Soup *little drum roll please!*  We were given this lovely picture for inspiration (I thought she slightly resembled Elizabeth I!)

Fortunately inspiration from another dusty corner of my mind sprung forth and I recalled that the very talented SJ had done a musing which would work well so I downloaded her and scrapped away.

Pop over to Chicken Soup to join in the challenge. Have fun!  :-)

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday!

A fair bit of excitement in the VT (Victorian Terrace) this week - firstly I am thrilled to be on the design team for Chicken Soup - please check out their blog and by all means follow me on this new and lovely adventure.

Secondly I bought a 'Clip It Up' - I finally managed to get my mitts on one second-hand.  I've also got the top section too and lots of those little cute boxes but I've yet to get all of that out of the bag (didn't like to scare the family all in one go and display all my stash that I usually have hidden away!)

This week I've photographed another little table in my craft room (aka conservatory) which houses the ironing basket (already the first stage of pressing is in progress thanks to Darcy!) Piled high are my pink Really Useful Boxes - they are filled with punches, ribbon and all other absolutely essential, important and 'really useful' supplies!

Finally a layout I've just completed (oh dear yet another one of eldest son!)  Papers are lush - Kaisercraft - Peachy Keen.

Thanks for visiting and of course big big thanks to Julia for making Wednesdays a million times more interesting :-) xx

Leftovers

Kits are wonderful but, like everyone, I'm left with just a few papers that I'm never quite sure what to do with.  If I was an enthusiastic card maker then that would probably be the answer but unfortunately I'm not.  So today I challenged myself to make a layout just from two pieces of paper and this is the result.  Fairly simplistic but I'm quite pleased :-)
