Can't find him before lunar cry is Esthar on Disc 3. How do you do find him? Is there something you're supposed to do? I don't think the article is accurate.
Just follow the instructions and you should find him. Likeacupcake 03:28, November 9, 2010 (UTC)
I did, but he's not there before the events at lunar base like the article says. Maybe it's just my game.
Elnoyle can't be found before Lunar Cry. Lunar Cry is the whole point why people begin transforming into monsters and that stuff.Keltainentoukokuu 03:43, November 9, 2010 (UTC)Keltainentoukokuu
Yeah, that's what I thought, but I keep finding things that say he can be found prior to this like the article. Just confusing I guess.
- Sign your posts please, otherwise this is going to look confusing. I have played FF8 PC-version and Euro Platinum PSX version, and most definitely you can't fight Elnoyle in either version before the Lunar Cry. There are no soldiers on the streets before the Lunar Cry happens. The guy just won't be there. Finding Elnoyle is the weirdest thing though, because the first time I played FF8 like aeons ago I confused the soldier guy to some other guy who also says heeheeheehee when you talk to them (there are a few around actually, looks like people are just going nuts), and tried to trigger the Elnoyle encounter, and actually managed to encounter quite a few just there on the streets as random encounters. But then... I have never been able to do it since. I never get Elnoyle anymore as a random encounter. Maybe it is just super exclusive like the Chimera you can encounter in like once in a million chance on the Dingo Desert.Keltainentoukokuu 05:47, November 9, 2010 (UTC)Keltainentoukokuu
Well you fight the Chimera often enough in the Kashkabald Desert, although he's still fairly rare. And another fun fact is it appears even more often on the Island Closest to Heaven. Careful of those damned Malboros though... Anyway, the reason for my post is I edited the Elnoyle's tactics since it does not counterattack with Tail Needle, instead he just slaps you around as a counter. Tail Needle is used on occasion as a regular skill/attack. Fate255 11:53, February 17, 2011 (UTC)
