The Earth Eater is a boss in the Advance and 2014 Matrix Software versions of Final Fantasy VI. It is this game's version of the monster who first appeared in Final Fantasy X.

Battle[]
Earth Eater uses powerful physical attacks. Despite its low Defense, it should not be underestimated. Its special attack, Megaton Punch, will instantly KO one target, ignoring death immunity. This attack is used to counter the party's own attacks.
Unlike most bosses in the Dragons' Den, Earth Eater, Gargantua, Malboro Menace, Dark Behemoth, and Abyss Worm do not drop any weapons, and they will respawn every time player enters their area.
Strategy[]
Summoning Phantom can nullify Megaton Punch since it is a physical attack. Gargantua is vulnerable to stop status, so casting Stop at the beginning of the battle will prevent it from acting. Once stopped, the player can use their powerful spells, like Flare and Ultima, and recast Stop just in case the stop status wears off.
