Oh, shut up and help me remodel the Cait Sith (VII Rebirth party member) page!
Cait Sith is a playable character in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Wielding megaphones and capable of summoning a giant moogle, Cait Sith is a unique party member with a versatile skillset. He is capable of dealing both physical and magic damage across the board, and his abilities provide supporting moves.
Cait Sith joins the party in chapter 9, "The Planet Stirs". He is mandatory at multiple points, and leads the party briefly in chapter 11, "The Long Shadow of Shinra". Unlike other party members, there are no affection mechanics with Cait Sith.
If Cait Sith is transformed into a toad, he becomes a black and white toad with a tiny crown and a red cape. However, taking him to the Frogjump minigame in Under Junon is glitched on the field (not on the minigame itself), where he appears stuck in the transformation animation as a cloud of green mist and stars.
Cait Sith's moveset is based partly on his Final Fantasy VII gameplay, with heavy alterations.
Battle[]
Cait Sith himself is small and mobile, using normal physical attacks, and able to use ranged magic attacks after dodging and attacking. His playstyle changes when he summons his moogle using Let's Ride!. Cait Sith's moogle can be commanded by him, but will otherwise move independently. It will always attack independently, as when Cait Sith is riding the moogle, all his basic attacks become his magic ranged attacks, while the moogle will contribute physical attacks if it is in range of the enemy or the player holds the attack button. Cait Sith can dodge to jump off the moogle at any time and let the moogle attack on its own. Most of Cait Sith's abilities can only be used when the moogle is present. The moogle has its own HP, which appears next to Cait Sith's when it is deployed, and it will be dismissed at 0 HP. Using Let's Ride! while the moogle is out will fully heal it, and is the only way to do so. If Cait Sith is incapacitated when not on the moogle, it will continue to independently move and attack enemies, but is completely uncontrollable and unhealable until Cait Sith recovers.
Cait Sith has different unique abilities with depending on whether he is riding the moogle or if the moogle is present. His Kitty Wallop attack when the moogle is absent is simply a stronger normal attack. When he is off the moogle, his unique ability becomes Mount and allows him to rejoin the moogle. When on the moogle, his unique ability changes throughout battle, giving him unique attacks including ones that can inflict dangerous status effects to enemies. When riding his moogle and the player is locked onto an enemy, flicking the left stick will pirouette the moogle for evasion that briefly avoids damage.
Cait Sith is a versatile party member, whose moveset and abilities allow him to be strong as an attacker and a spellcaster. Much like Cloud and Yuffie, his attributes are even between attack and magic. His abilities include several supporting abilities that can aid the party in battle. However, without his moogle, he can be particularly vulnerable, and several of his abilities are very luck-based. The moogle can draw fire away from Cait Sith, and he has a degree of mobility, but he is vulnerable if caught alone.
Attributes[]
Cait Sith's attributes are balanced and powerful. He has equal Strength and
Magic, wherein he has the second-highest strength below only Tifa, and the second-highest magic below Aerith. He has the highest
Luck, which is even further bolstered by many of his passive abilities, resulting in a naturally high critical hit rate that can potentially let him out-damage Tifa or Aerith. He also has the fourth-highest HP, below Barret, Red XIII, and Cloud.
Cait Sith's remaining attributes are considerably weaker. He has the lowest Vitality and
Spirit, giving him the lowest defensive attributes in spite of his high HP. This makes the moogle crucial for him defensively as well as offensively, as he is vulnerable without it. His MP pool is also the third-lowest in the party.

Abilities[]
From the start, Cait Sith has two abilities: Let's Ride! and Dodge 'n' Dive. As with all other party members, Cait Sith can learn more abilities from weapons gained over the course of the game.
- Let's Ride! is Cait Sith's most essential ability. It summons his moogle to battle, or restores it to full health while mounting the moogle if already summoned. The player can dismount with the dodge button, and remount normally with the unique ability. Given all the opportunities the moogle provides to Cait Sith, this ability is ideal as a shortcut command.
- Dodge 'n' Dive has Cait Sith dodge an attack backwards as the moogle charges forward, sacrificing itself. If an attack is dodged properly, Cait Sith regains an ATB charge, meaning the player can use Let's Ride! once more. Though the timing required is precise, proper use can let the player maximize damage potential without sacrificing the moogle. Requires the moogle.
- Roll o' the Dice has Cait Sith roll a die, activating an effect depending on the number (1 to 6) it lands on. Though it is possible to alter the result by moving the die with Cait Sith's model, the result is otherwise up to chance and the results are mostly ideal for any situation (except against enemies that absorb elements).
- 1-Fire and Thunder: Casts Fira and Thundara on enemies.
- 2-Hypurr Beams: Shoots two homing notes at a target.
- 3-Aero and Blizzard: Casts Aerora and Blizzara on enemies.
- 4-Total Outrage: Casts Fury on the party.
- 5-Regenerative Aura: Casts
Regen on the party.
- 6-Expansive Shield: Casts
Shield on the party.
- Fortune Telling is a physical attack that can either deal weak or great damage, as indicated by the absence/presence of confetti in its animation. Cait Sith will jump and swing with his megaphone when alone, or perform a lunging punch with the moogle, the former being a good gap-closer. Out of Cait Sith's abilities that are up to chance, this is one of the more reliable ones, dealing fair damage with either version.
- Moogle Kaboom has the moogle eat explosive balls, turning it into a bomb that will detonate when it leaves battle. The blast will damage Cait Sith. Though the player can let the moogle's health reach zero, this ability synergizes extremely well with Dodge 'n' Dive, letting the player choose when to detonate the moogle and gain the ATB to bring it back immediately. Requires the moogle.
- Moogle Mine has Cait Sith throw 5–6 landmine dolls around him that explode and increase the stagger gauge of foes who touch them. Despite the stagger increase benefit, the ability is less effective against stationary, aerial, or small foes who are unlikely to walk into them. Requires the moogle.
- Moogle Magic has Cait Sith charge power briefly to bring the summon equipped to him into battle to use one of its abilities. While this can forgo needing to wait for the summon gauge to appear or fill in battles, the player cannot choose which ability is used, which can result in a wasted ATB charge if players are not careful. In addition, this ability can only be used in battles where summons are available, and successive uses will increase how long Cait Sith charges. Requires the moogle.
- Moogle Knuckle has the moogle strike with two punches, increasing the stagger percentage by 40% (15% on the first hit and 25% on the second). Out of the few abilities capable of raising stagger percentages, this one is exceptionally good, and places Cait Sith below Tifa in raising stagger damage. With a proper party setup, this ability can help quickly and easily defeat enemies and bosses, even in the late-game.
- Lady Luck is Cait Sith's penultimate ability and raises the party's critical hit rate. This ability is already great for physical damage-dealers like Cloud and Tifa, but combined with Cait Sith's high Luck stat, means it is possible for Cait Sith to deal critical damage with every attack used (since Luck is tied to the critical hit rate). As such, this ability is excellent for maximizing damage potential.
- Lucky Slots is Cait Sith's ultimate ability, gained from his folio at Party Level 9. It costs 2 ATB segments, and activates a three-slot reel that the player must try to align to trigger certain results. The possible results are very useful, and can turn the tide of battle if used properly. However, Cait Sith will be stationary and defenseless while the reels spin, and flinching or major damage will cancel the ability outright.
- Three Stars-Limit Breaker: Adds a Limit Level to the entire party
- Three Hearts-Resist and Reraise: Grants the entire party Resist and Reraise.
- Three Crowns-Jackpot: Rains down crowns all around Cait Sith, dealing damage to enemies.
- Three Bars-Super Stagger: Drastically increases the stagger gauge all enemies around Cait Sith.
- Mismatch-Cat Scratch: Drops buckets on all enemies nearby, dealing damage.
Synergy[]
Materia[]
Cait Sith joins the party with Empowerment Materia, which he can use to buff his teammates.
Limit breaks[]
Cait Sith has three limit breaks: Magic Mogbox, Mega Magic Mogbox, and Giga Magic Mogbox. All involve Cait Sith throwing "a box of tricks" at the opposition. Magic Mogbox has a chance of spawning several homing missiles or a single homing explosive plushy. Mega Magic Mogbox can spawn several plushies that fall on enemies or a black hole. Giga Magic Mogbox always summons Fat Chocobo to crush foes. Every limit break requires Cait Sith's moogle to be present to perform.
