Description
ATB Assist materia is a 
Complete Materia in Final Fantasy VII Remake and "Episode INTERmission". It increases a character's ATB gauge when using multiple different ATB commands (including abilities or magic spells) back-to-back.

ATB Assist materia can be purchased from Chadley after completing Battle Intel Report 13.
In "Episode INTERmission", ATB Assist is a reward for scoring 5,000 points in the Basic Training course of the Shinra Box Buster minigame.

Use[]
ATB Assist materia increases the teammates' ATB gauge after executing multiple different ATB commands in quick succession. To gain the bonus there needs to be almost no delay between the two ATB commands (the player can queue the next command mid-animation). Using ATB Assist successfully means the rest of the party benefits from the actions of the controlled character, and therefore it should be used on a character that the player controls often. As the materia grants ATB to other party members, it can be useful both for players who micromanage and switch between characters often, or in combination with 
Synergy Materia to allow abilities to be executed shortly after a character performs their moveset.
ATB Assist materia is very beneficial for Tifa because she has the highest 
Speed, and because her abilities are best performed in quick succession in a combo, meaning she will frequently execute multiple ATB commands together. However, ATB Assist can be broadly useful on any character whom the player controls frequently if said character uses different commands often.
ATB Assist materia can be used in combination with other materia that also increase characters' ATB gauges: 
First Strike Materia, ATB Stagger Materia, Skill Master Materia, and 
ATB Boost Materia. By using these materia to increase the ATB gauge of one character who has ATB Assist, said characters' ATB Assist will allow the rest of the party to also benefit, greatly speeding up the rate skills can be used in a battle. When Aerith uses ATB Ward, another party member can equip ATB Assist to great effect while inside the ward; as Aerith will share her ATB gauge with that character, they will have more ATB to fuel their own abilities, which in turn can grant Aerith more ATB from ATB Assist.
