I have always been drawn to the magic of nature, even as a small child. My Oma created the most magical life for her grandchildren. I remember visiting her home in the Arizona mountains several times each year and running to a pine tree with a hidden nook where Oma’s mouse friend, Matty Mouse, had hidden special treats as a welcome to her home.
My sisters and I spent many happy hours exploring all over the forest where my grandparents lived.
There were dolly tea parties to be had,
elf friends to play with,
fish to swim with,
birds to fly with and fairies to dance with.
The magic I felt each time we visited spoke deeply to my soul. I knew that one day I wanted to create a magical world like that. Oma helped spark that dream with her hours of patience helping us grandchildren learn to sew and create whatever our imaginations could conjure up.
Several years ago, My older sister told me about Waldorf education and all the sweet little natural toys that children play with. My soul lept with joy at the thought of an entire community of people that loved nature as I do!
What I make and sell in my Etsy shop https://www.etsy.com/shop/happyhoneybee72 goes beyond just a few little toys made from natural materials. I use the inspiration of nature around me to create a world of magic for grown-ups and children. I make items for the home such as aprons, tea towels, and holiday themed decorations.
Of course I do make play things for the children
and clothes for their dollies.
I also make flannel blankets and burp cloths, and special occasion clothing and accessories for babies and children which can be found in my other Etsy shop http://www.etsy.com/shop/fairychildheirlooms
You can find heirloom styled doll clothes in this shop too
