Summary

Description
English: A replica of the Old Changi Prison Chapel at the Changi Museum, Singapore. The chapel was originally constructed by Australian and British prisoners of war (POWs) in Changi Prison in 1944. At the end of World War II it was dismantled and shipped to Australia, where it was put into storage. It was reconstructed and unveiled in 1988 in Duntroon, Canberra, as a POW memorial. The same year, a replica of the chapel and a museum were built in Singapore next to Changi Prison. When Changi Prison was later expanded, the chapel and museum were relocated to a new site one kilometre away and were officially relaunched on 15 February 2001.
