Sarevok is one of the main characters from the BioWare Baldur's Gate game. He is as the main character son of the dead god Baal and at the time of his death is one of the strongest children.
In first chapter of the series Sarevok appears as a heavily armored figure, who viciously kills your foster father Gorion and thus became the main cause of your adventure. Throughout the whole game the protagonist starts to learn more and more about his divine heritage, which he is sharing with Sarevok. Sarevok is plotting through politics and manipulation to start a war between Baldur's Gate and Amn, causing enough carnage to transform him into the new god of murder. Sarevok is raised in as an urchin in the streets until he was adopted by his foster father into the Iron Throne. Then he studied the art of intimidation, the cruelest and most brutal styles of combat, in order to become a Deathbringer that could paralyze an opponent in melee through fear alone... as well as sometimes killing the most powerful of opponents in a single, massive blow. After you kill him in the first chapter, Sarevok only appears briefly in the second - Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn, as a shadow, who is one of the latest challenges in the game.
In the latest stages of the series in Throne of Bhaal he appears as a ghost, who proposes few things - knowledge and partnership. You are obliged to give some of his divine essence so continue through the game to revive him. Then Sarevok proposes to join your party. Considering he is one of the strongest fighters and melee NPCs, he is nice addition to your party. It matters what behaviour you have towards him. Thus he can rethink his position and life and according to this, can have two different epilogues. However this part wasn't developped in the original game, thus it resulted one BioWare staff member - David Gaider to release a self-made mod - Ascension, where this part in Sarevok's persona is developped and clarified further.
