Valerio Massimo Manfredi (born 1943) is an Italian scholar of archaeology and a famous historical novelist. He was voted man of the year in 1999 by the American Biographical institute, and his books have been translated into several languages. During 2004 he adapted his novel Alexander for the big screen. This is not the Oliver Stone-version but a planned movie to be directed by Baz Luhrman. He currenly teaches in The University Of Economics Luigi Bocconi in Milan, Italy.
