If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

- To list a technical request: Uncontroversial technical requests subsection and insert the following code at the bottom of the list, filling in pages and reason:
This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.
{{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}
the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.
Technical requests
Uncontroversial technical requests
- Puyallup people → Puyallup Tribe of Indians (move · discuss) – Article is about the federally-recognized tribe/governmental body, not about the ethnic group. I am writing an article (in my sandbox, for now) about the ethnic group specifically, but it doesn't belong in the same belong in the same article as the one about the tribal government. One article covering both things would be overly massive, and this follows the current precedent of having an article for the tribal institution and the people. PersusjCP (talk) 22:36, 21 February 2024 (UTC)
- FYI: I was going to raise a concern about "Puyallup Tribe of Indians" because of WP:CONCISE while Indians is a contentious term, but it turns out that this is what they call themselves: [1]. At any rate, the "Tribe of Indians" article should only be about the federally recognized government operations. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 02:29, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, I went for that since it's the official name of the subject of the article. Plus, just "Puyallup Tribe" would be ambiguous between the Puyallup people and the Puyallup Tribe of Indians, imo PersusjCP (talk) 02:37, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
- There is already a WP:RM discussion open for the same suggestion. I suggest to just let that continue rather than processing this as a 'technical' request. — BarrelProof (talk) 03:21, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
- Per Discord, this user seems to have accidentally hit discuss on their own RMTR. So I'll restore here and anyone is free to do whatever re the RM. Inclined to close as "speedy move" citing this but I'll leave it to someone else. Queen of Hearts (talk • stalk • she/they) 06:02, 22 February 2024 (UTC)

- Air Sweden (1991–1993) (currently a redirect to Time Air Sweden) → Time Air Sweden (move · discuss) – The airline was primarily known as "Time Air Sweden" and since Wikipedia prefers natural disambiguation, it can aid any confusion between this article and the more recent Air Sweden. GalacticOrbits (talk) 09:05, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
- Robert Santos (trainer) is invalid. Must create Robert Santos (trainer) before requesting that it be moved to Bob Santos (trainer).– He is most known as Bob Santos based on the references found. Please check here to see the references. Thank you. Axeia.aksaya (talk) 12:27, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
- User:Kbill98/The Mamba Mentality: How I Play (currently a redirect to The Mamba Mentality: How I Play) → The Mamba Mentality: How I Play (move · discuss) – we're trying to move this user draft to the mainspace, but there are existing redirects from "The Mamba Mentality: How I Play" and "The Mamba Mentality" to "Kobe_Bryant". I deleted the redirect for "The Mamba Mentality: How I Play", but the page still needs to be deleted before we can move. Reagle (talk) 21:19, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
Requests to revert undiscussed moves
- What's Going On (Marvin Gaye album) (currently a redirect to What's Going On (album)) → What's Going On (album) (move · discuss) – Per Talk:What's Going On (Marvin Gaye album)#Requested move 7 February 2024. Bait30 Talk 2 me pls? 21:54, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
Contested technical requests
- Adjarabet Arena → Batumi Stadium (currently a redirect back to Adjarabet Arena) (move · discuss) – Per WP:COMMONNAME, move from temporary sponsored name Abcmaxx (talk) 08:36, 21 February 2024 (UTC)
- Citation needed. 162 etc. (talk) 18:56, 21 February 2024 (UTC)
- Tabal → Tabal (state) (move · discuss) – "Tabal" was the name of both a region and a state, and the page on the state needs to be renamed to avoid confusion. Antiquistik (talk) 18:53, 19 February 2024 (UTC)
- What's the name of the page for the region? Bensci54 (talk) 19:56, 19 February 2024 (UTC)
- @Bensci54: The name for the page for the region is Tabal (region). Antiquistik (talk) 18:29, 20 February 2024 (UTC)
- Tabal (region) is just a redirect to Tabal. — BarrelProof (talk) 19:51, 20 February 2024 (UTC)
- @Bensci54 and BarrelProof: another user created the redirect. However, I need the present content of Tabal to be moved to Tabal (state) before I can rewrite both pages so there won't be any confusion between the region and the state. Antiquistik (talk) 20:07, 20 February 2024 (UTC)
- It would probably be best to first establish a consensus for your proposed WP:content fork in a discussion before preemptively renaming the current article, or to develop a second article in the Wikipedia WP:Draft space. Also, the existence of two articles can often be sufficiently addressed by a WP:TWODABS approach without needing to add a disambiguation qualifier to both titles. — BarrelProof (talk) 20:20, 20 February 2024 (UTC)
- @BarrelProof: is WP:content fork really the appropriate channel for this when Tabal the region and Tabal the state are different topics whose main relation consists of the state being located in the region without being identical to each other? Antiquistik (talk) 10:49, 22 February 2024 (UTC)

- Civil Service of China (currently a redirect to Civil service of the People's Republic of China) → Civil service of China (currently a redirect instead to Civil service of the People's Republic of China) (move · discuss) – No need to capitalize the second word of the title per WP:LOWERCASE. Amigao (talk) 18:15, 19 February 2024 (UTC)
- @Amigao I am going to move this back to it's original title of Civil Service of the People's Republic of China, but with "service" in lowercase, since it was moved without discussion last week and an earlier move request on the talk page didn't find consensus for shortening "People's Republic of China" to just "China" in the title. Please open a new move request on the talk page if you still want to move the page to Civil service of China. --Ahecht (TALK

- Kaminski Brigade (currently a redirect to Russian People's Liberation Army) → SS Sturmbrigade RONA (currently a redirect instead to Russian People's Liberation Army) (move · discuss) – The article was moved without discussion from a name previously approved through a RM discussion. "Kaminski Brigade" does not appear to even be used in the current article's lead. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 09:45, 21 February 2024 (UTC)
- @Piotrus: Please start an WP:RM per WP:TITLECHANGES it has been at this this title for almost three years. Lightoil (talk) 04:45, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
- 2022 Guamanian gubernatorial election → 2022 Guam gubernatorial election (currently a redirect back to 2022 Guamanian gubernatorial election) (move · discuss) – in most/all US election pages the name of the state/territory is used rather than an adjective e.g. Illinois but not Illinoisan Nevermore27 (talk) 17:01, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
- The current name is consisted with all other Guam election articles. Bensci54 (talk) 17:26, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
