Summary
| Description |
English: Stillaguamish River (North Fork), site of the March 22, 2014, Oso mudslide; the unstable area is covered with red alder, bigleaf maple and black cottonwood (light green) forest (right of center and below river). An eroding slope on the far side of the unstable area was left by a smaller slide that briefly dammed the river on January 25, 2006, and by similar previous events. The mudslide flowed to the upper left, across the river into the Steelhead Drive area. Most, if not all, of the houses visible in the image were destroyed. Español: Río de personas (Norte Tenedor), sede de la 22 de marzo 2014, Oso alud de lodo, la zona inestable se cubre con el aliso rojo, de hoja ancha de arce y álamo negro (verde claro) de bosque (de centro derecha y por debajo de los ríos). Una pendiente erosionando en el lado más alejado de la zona inestable fue dejado por un tobogán pequeño que represado brevemente el río el 25 de enero de 2006, y por los eventos previos similares. El deslizamiento de tierra fluía hacia la parte superior izquierda, al otro lado del río en la zona de Steelhead Drive. La mayoría, si no todas, de las casas visibles en la imagen fueron destruidos. |
