Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Friendship, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Elation (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi DPL bot, thanks for bringing the issue to my attention. I'll do the change, right now. Secondly, it may be OK to remove this message but i feel that messages in talk pages will be nostalgic and fruitful once we turn our past in Wikipedia. For me, it will be good so that i can turn back to see what mistakes and corrections i've done. If not, i may unknowingly do the same mistake. Thanks once again. --Balablitz (talk) 13:28, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The Fly

The 2012 Indian film about a man being murdered and reincarnated as a fly was made in Telugu as Eega and in Tamil as Naan Ee. Despite both of them being described as separately shot, Naan Ee redirects to Eega, meaning it does not have its own article. Is it good enough to have its own article though? -- Kailash29792 (talk) 11:59, 18 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Kailash29792 (talk), am quite confused after your query. There are few examples regarding your query:
  1. Nee Manasu Naaku Telusu/Enakku 20 Unakku 18 or TVSK/Something Something - Same story/film, Minor crew change but diff article.
  2. Yuva/Aaytha Ezhuthu - Same story/film, Major crew change but diff article.
  3. Mayabazar, Neram and Charulatha - Same story/film, Minor crew change but same/single article.
  4. KSY/Love Failure and 180/Nootrenbadhu - Same story/film, Minor crew change but redirects to one version.
To me, seperate article may be required for remakes, other wise redirect or single/same article is enough if the film has minor crew change and minor re-shoot. Eg: Neram, Chaarulatha, KSY/Love Failure, 180/Nootrenbadhu, etc., For Nee Manasu Naaku Telusu/Enakku 20 Unakku 18 or TVSK/Something Something, they have minor crew change only otherwise simultaneously re-shot, hence no need of two pages. Its like buying a same branded product in different outlets managed by same brand. In case of Yuva and Aaytha Ezhuthu or Ye Maaya Chesave/Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa/Ekk Deewana Tha, seperate articles are required as though they are same story, bilingual/multilingual and shot simultaneously/later yet they have a major crew change with crucial facts. I hope i partially answered your query. Maybe this issue can be discussed with other editors too for opinion or arriving at conclusion. Eitherway lemme know the status. --βα£α(ᶀᶅᶖᵵᵶ) 13:43, 18 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion - Bardia Rahim

You recently wiped out the entire page of work for Bardia Rahim. It was a lot of work that was 100% resourced as reputable with .govs and national newspaper publications such at the San Diego Union Tribune. I have completed numerous excellent Wikipedia and the the notability on the subject meets Wikipedia's golden rule and tone is neutral an unbiased and adheres to polices and guidelines on Wikipedia. Please reinstate the page so it may be edited and worked on as the subject plays a key role in particular segments and industries and is a well known notable living person. There was no need to wipe the entire page of work clean, you have listed what may need editing to improve the page. Please change it back to its original file to be edited immediately or I will take this to discussion where a decision will be made on my article to improve it and discussion on your privilege to edit in our community. Osrius (talk) 07:51, 22 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

@Osrius: - Coming to article point of view, i stand by my decision (for wikipedia to be encyclopaedic and neutral). But this article isn't. If it "100% resourced as reputable with .govs and national newspaper publications such at the San Diego Union Tribune" meets golden rule, why to make edits even after @APerson declined. You even removed/altered his/her decline edit. Is it neutral/unbiased? In an biography article, only once and first time where he has introduction, his name should be mentioned from a first or second person's point of view and in the entire article it should be from a third party view. But till this the neutrality seems to be compromised as evidently. Example: Rahim was host, Rahim was enrolled, Bardia Rahimzadeh was born, Rahimzadeh shortened his, After Rahim's fathers house, At age sixteen a young Rahim looked to get a job, Rahim knew if , took place for Rahim., Rahim’s hearing, prosecutors, Rahim an , Rahim refused to give, Rahim’s prison cell where, Rahim, a Brown Belt who trains, added Rahim to their team, Rahim trains with, Rahim is competing for. Why this much of Rahim? Were u so attached or close to him? Or is he ur friend or the user Osrius and Rahim are same or do Osrius owe something for Rahim? Does this mean neutrality or unbiased. Read about neutrality here. References are not in format as per guidelines laid. Particularly, facebook and pinterest, which has to be avoided. If you want to create or improve articles for wikipedia look for necessary guidelines and read FA and GA, which sets a high standard. One important thing, i urge to guard your tone while making comments. All editors have right to express what is right, but one should have good faith. In my experience at wikipedia, i had never come across or heard of undoing/reverting the declined by a reviewer. Wondering what amounts to that? But u did, kudos. I open to discuss regarding the article where you take to, even on my privilege to edit. --βα£α(ᶀᶅᶖᵵᵶ) 14:05, 23 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
@Balablitz: No I disagree, all you had to do is edit it so that Rahim's name is taken out more times than used, if necessary. Real simple stuff. This is an encyclopedia in which he is a notable person for his industry and instead of cleaning up the page which is still written very well I made edits to make sure it was good enough AP PERSON MADE threats that is another story, I see you have a history of making bad edits that are always corrected? Just as in this case. This page will be escalated for third party review and opinion so that it may be cleaned up for acceptance.22:35, 23 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
@Balablitz: HOWEVER, I do understand your point, sorry if I misscommunicated or conveyed what I was trying to say. I would like to work with you to resolve and make this page good and myself a better editor. So whatever you believe I need to change I will. simple as that! Additionally if you want to help me it would be much appreciated? Thank You and I look forward to your response.
@Balablitz: Again you just deleted a different page, why is that you only delete my stuff, I want another editor to look at it not you! I feel you are stalking me and I would like you to leave me alone. Additionally I am reaching out to you to fix it and make additional changes, only if needed. Not only that but do you understand the English meaning of genericization? This company is so well known its trademark has suffered from genericization.
@Osrius: - I visited the AFC page only to review and also to comment/suggest for improvement and make a note to the creator of the article and not to edit. Well if that is "Real simple stuff", you yourself could have removed it, when you had visited similar highly rated biography articles. I knew wikipedia is a encyclopedia and came across more than 1000s of articles with very well written and not well written, and Barda Rahim falls in the latter category. He may be notable, he's projected in wikipedia with indigently written phrases and references. Do come up with good third party reference.  Looks like a duck to me regarding your observations on my bad edits. I forgive on that. Justify how @APerson made threats? It was his/her motive or style on how, where and what to edit and to keep wikipedia better. Thats it. It with almost every editor. Even with you too, since your contributions show most of your edits with people you know, working within a limited sphere. I just here to edit, not to bully os stalk, i dislike it literally and idiomatically. Your fear is very fictional. By the way, which page i deleted? I leave alone that Barda Rahim article review with this comment. Am fed up. As i have some better work to do.  Thank you very much! --βα£α(ᶀᶅᶖᵵᵶ) 23:48, 23 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Wasson Bluff entry

Thanks for adding "expert-subject" and "lead too long" tags to the article on Wasson Bluff. As suggested, I have moved material from the lead into the body of the entry. I have also removed the "lead too long" tag. As creator of the entry, I will have to wait for review by an expert. Bwark (talk) 18:26, 30 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

@Bwark:Good. Keep improving. I have one suggestion regarding the article. Though the article has citations as per guidelines, it seems it is lacking WP:INTEGRITY, as most of the citations are pushed to the end of the paragraph. It is also one of the reason, i tagged for “expert-subject”, some might put “cn” tags in-between paragraphs after the end of sentences having crucial of trivial information. Hence, i suggest you to rework on that, instead of pushing all citations at the end of para, cite at appropriate end of sentences as per WP:BUNDLING. Thank you --βα£α(ᶀᶅᶖᵵᵶ) 21:53, 30 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your suggestions. I will assess them carefully. However, to be perfectly honest, I feel you are nit-picking. You have not pointed out any specific problems as the tag suggests, i.e. "This article needs attention from an expert in Geology. Please add a reason or a talk parameter to this template to explain the issue with the article." As far as I am concerned, there is no issue with this article. The citations are publicly available and two geologists who work at this site have reviewed my entry. I am an experienced Wiki editor and contributor with four featured articles to my credit. Experience tells me that contributing to pre-existing articles generates much less criticism than creating new ones. Although I agree with your suggestion re shortening the lead section, I think you are wrong when you impose that tag about the need for expert review without justifying it. The tag suggests the entry may lack factual credibility and it undermines the many weeks of effort I put into it. Experience also tells me that it may take many weeks, if not months, before anyone actually reviews this article and in the meantime, anyone who reads it will doubt its accuracy. Therefore, I would ask you to remove the tag, unless you can justify it and instead, publish your criticisms on the article's talk page Bwark (talk) 01:58, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
@Bwark:First of all, thanks for your nice reply. Fine. I realise that. More than any other tag, this tag may create a bigger and longer backlog for a review. My only issue was with citations as they are bundled, though they are credible and inlined. Hence you may work on that and keep improving. Thank you --βα£α(ᶀᶅᶖᵵᵶ) 03:00, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Japec Jakopin entry

Hi, thank you for your comment on the article, subjected for review: "Non-english text may have corresponding/alternate texts in english. Some reference are not in format." Could you be more specific, maybe add some example, so that I can make the requested changes faster? Thank you in advance. AndyKamy (talk) 08:35, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@AndyKamy:The Non-english texts are in Slovene language, right? If so, they may be brought within quotes (""). Since this is english wikipedia, usage of non-english texts may be restricted and be used where ever appropriate. W.r.t. the thesis title, the translated text may placed within brackets. Regarding reference please follow the guidelines at WP:REF and relevant templates are at Citation Style 1. --βα£α(ᶀᶅᶖᵵᵶ) 09:11, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

VisualEditor issue

Hi Balablitz,

WP:VisualEditor is adding and then automtically removing some "span" tags for a couple of users. You seem to be one of the people affected. It's not your fault, but I need some information to figure out what's going on. Can you tell me what web browser, computer operating system, and Wikipedia skin you're using? (The "skin' is the appearance of Wikipedia; unless you deliberately changed it, then it's the default [called "Vector"].) You can reply here, leave a note on my talk page, or send me e-mail. It would be really helpful to know thesee things. Thanks, Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk) 07:19, 6 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I've reverted this to the redir. You can't claim no context when there was something that you removed. It looks like a sound redirect to me, but if you feel strongly about it, it should be dealt with at RfD. Peridon (talk) 11:44, 14 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Well, it's nowhere near ready yet. Honing one's craft and stunning artistry (amongst others) are not acceptable for an encyclopaedia. The refs are hardly reliable independent sources from what I've seen of them. Own site, profiles, press releases and similar stuff. Until it's fixed, it would be tagged spam on sight. I've blocked the author with a softer block and a reading list. They are a PR type firm, but I've seen much worse. (One article was so full of buzzwords that I never even found out what the company actually did. The author never responded to my query...). Sorry to come down like a ton of bricks, but it's best to get things fixed before the review (which it is unlikely pass at present, and definitely wouldn't pass NPP). As to the redirect, I've tagged the target article for improvement of the refs, and wouldn't object to it going to AfD. When this new Salerno is sorted out, a decision can be made as to whether a bracketed distinction is made, or a hatnote on the new one - if the old one still has an article. Feedback needed on using special characters

Hello. Thank you so much for using VisualEditor. Having editors use it is the best way for the Wikimedia Foundation to develop it into the best tool it can be.

While we always welcome general feedback (please report any issues in Bugzilla in the "VisualEditor" product or drop your feedback on the central feedback page on MediaWiki.org), the developers are especially interested right now in feedback on the special character inserter. This new tool is used for inserting special characters (including symbols like , IPA pronunciation symbols, mathematics symbols, and characters with diacritics). It is intended to help people whose computers do not have good character inserters. For example, many Mac users prefer to use the extensive "Special Characters…" tool present at the bottom of the Edit menu in all applications or to learn the keyboard shortcuts for characters like ñ and ü.

The current version of the special characters tool in VisualEditor is very simple and very basic. It will be getting a lot of work in the coming weeks and months. It does not contain very many character sets at this time. (The specific character sets can be customized at each Wikipedia, so that each project could have a local version with the characters it wants.) But the developers want your ideas at this early stage about ways that the overall concept could be improved. I would appreciate your input on this question, so please try out the character inserter and tell me what changes to the design would (or would not!) best work for you.

Screenshot of the Insert menu in VisualEditor
The "insert" pulldown on the task bar of VisualEditor will lead you to the '⧼visualeditor-specialcharacterinspector-title⧽' tool.
Screenshot of Special Characters tool
This is the ⧼visualeditor-specialcharacterinspector-title⧽ inserter as it appears on many wikis. (Some may have customized it.) Your feedback on this tool is particularly important.

Issues you might consider:

  • Do you normally use a character inserter? Which character sets are useful to you? Should it include all 18 of the character sets provided in the wikitext editor's newer toolbar at the English Wikipedia, the 10 present in the older editor toolbar, or some other combination of character sets?
  • How many special characters would you like to see at one time?
    • Should there be a "priority" or "favorites" section for the 10 or 12 characters that most editors need most often? Is it okay if you need an extra click to go beyond the limited priority set?
    • How should the sections be split up? Should they be nested? Ordered?
    • How should the sections be navigated? Should there be a drop-down? A nested menu?
  • The wikitext editor has never included many symbols and characters, like and . Do you find that you need these missing characters? If the character inserter in VisualEditor includes hundreds or thousands of special characters, will it be overwhelming? How will you find the character you want? What should be done for users without enough space to display more than a few dozen characters?
  • Should the character inserter be statically available until dismissed? Should it hover near the mouse? Should it go away on every selection or 10 seconds after a selection with no subsequent ones?
  • Some people believe that the toolbar already has too many options—how would you simplify it?

The developers are open to any thoughts on how the special character inserter can best be developed, even if this requires significant changes.

Please leave your views on the MediaWiki feedback page (your regular username/password works there), or, if you'd prefer, you can contact me directly on my talk page. It would be really helpful if you can tell me how frequently you need to use special characters in your typical editing and what languages are important to you.

Thank you again for your work with VisualEditor and for any feedback you can provide. I really do appreciate it. Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk) 23:42, 17 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

March 2014

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. We always appreciate when users upload new images. However, it appears that one or more of the images you have recently uploaded or added to an article, specifically Portal:Trichy/Selected biography/4, may fail our non-free image policy. Most often, this involves editors uploading or using a copyrighted image of a living person. For other possible reasons, please read up on our Non-free image criteria. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. See WP:NFCC#9. --Stefan2 (talk) 00:40, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Stefan2: Oops... Thanks for bringing it to my attention. As i was busy constructing the pages, i missed to notice your edit, hence i could have added the image mistakenly. It also happened because i didn't viewed my watchlist for the past 2 days. My apologies. I'll see to that, nothing such happens in future. BTW, Thanks for your contribution to Trichy portal. --βα£α(ᶀᶅᶖᵵᵶ) 00:56, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

category:Hindu temples

Hi, I see you have been removing the category of Hindu temples in the district from some temple pages. Places of worship is a larger umbrella and may not be the best fit here.Ssriram mt (talk) 01:01, 5 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Ssriram mt: Yes, places of worship is a larger umbrella, but am trying to categorize the temples within the City limits of Tiruchirappalli into Category:Hindu temples in Tiruchirappalli (yet to work) and putting the same under Category:Hindu temples in Tiruchirappalli district (along with other temples outside the city limits and within the district) and Category:Places of worship in Tiruchirappalli also. You can help me on that, else we can talk to somebody, if needed. --βα£α(ᶀᶅᶖᵵᵶ) 01:22, 5 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Some of the users already worked to classify the temples based on the district - it has been widely discussed. I am not sure if worship/religious places cat is needed separately. Hindu temples in Tiruchipalli can be a separate cat, but that should come under Hindu temples in Tiruchirapalli district.Ssriram mt (talk) 03:43, 5 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Ssriram mt: Yes, you got my point. Thats what am insisting and wished for.  Thanks --βα£α(ᶀᶅᶖᵵᵶ) 04:53, 5 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Rejection of "Liu Yiming"

Hello Balablitz,

It is not clear to me why you have rejected the article "Liu Yiming" as "not adequately supported by reliable sources".

• The first section, "Life", quotes its sources in a footnote: a scholarly study, and a Chinese book.

• The second section, "Works", refers to a dozen works by Liu Yiming, and cites next to their titles every existing translation into English

• The third section, "Views on Taoism and Internal Alchemy", quotes its main source in the first paragraph; provides references to the three most important Chinese studies on Liu Yiming; and contains exactly 10 references to an English translation of the main theoretical work by Liu Yiming (also quoting brief passages of the translation in quotation marks).

• The Bibliography lists 11 titles

• The External Links contain the first 2 links currently shown by a search on Google, except for a blog page (not usable on Wikipedia) and results for homonymous but different people

You comment says "Needs appropriate infobox and proper inline citations". I can count more than 20 inline citations in this article (for example, Liu Yiming 2013 appears 10 times). I can add an infobox only after I'm sure that the issue with reliable sources and inline citations is solved.

Could you please clarify what is the problem?

Thanks in advance.

Xuanying (talk) 14:18, 11 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Xuanying: As the subject of the proposed article is about a person, who is not a living person, see WP:BDP.
The article should be well referenced atleast one inline citation per paragraph. Please read and follow the guidelines. Hope these will clarify the problems for the decline. Happy to help, if any. --βα£α(ᶀᶅᶖᵵᵶ) 15:15, 11 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
