Maruja Fuentes
Maruja Fuentes (1978-2010) was an American industrial ~ environmental visual designer from Puerto Rico.
Biography
A native of Ponce, Puerto Rico, Maruja studied environmental design at the University of Puerto Rico, earned an undergraduate degree in architecture from the Catholic University of America, completed her master studies in architecture at Georgia Tech and studied furniture and textile design at SCAD.
Works
Some of her work was recently featured as part of the exhibit space IDSA.NYC reserved at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF).

“All my projects start with a concept. I believe that it is the key element for a good piece or design. The concept is the soul of the piece-- that which establishes its individuality. The majority of my concepts are derived from nature and aspects of daily life that usually go unnoticed or taken for granted.” [1]
