Flag of Hungary within Austria-Hungary

Seven athletes from the Hungarian portion of Austria-Hungary competed in six sports at the 1896 Summer Olympics held in Athens. The Hungarians did slightly better than their Austrian counterparts, winning six total medals (the sixth-most) to the Austrians' five. Each won two gold medals, tying them with Australia for sixth in that count.
