It is inappropriate for the Kwan Um school to try to take advantage of the Jogye entry to advertise itself, as it has nothing to do with Jogye. This sort of spurious information is typical of the problems that plague Wikipedia in the areas such as politics and religion, where various groups move in and attempt to sell their own positions and views. -- (originally posted by User:222.228.110.92)

According to Kwan Um's website, its founder was a Jogye leader. -- Visviva 06:35, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The notes say he was the patriarch of the Jogye Order. This seems spurious. Check the Jogye website @ koreanbuddhism.net. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.93.241.243 (talk) 22:27, 30 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

In the News recently

[edit]

BBC Report on Monks in Korea. May 27. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-18224511 Must be about time the wiki entry reflected current events. Behaviour such as gambling and drinking are widespread according to one Korean Jogye monk. Korean monks have been filmed rioting.
