Missing articles for places with > 100,000 population: last two...
There are now, as far as I know, articles for every place in Venezuela with a population of over 100,000, with just the following two exceptions:
- Ciudad Losada -- appears to be a new town development, not many mentions on Google, but this definitely appears to be a real place
- Lagunillas - not es:Lagunillas, which is in Bolivia, and not San Pedro Lagunillas which is in Mexico - this appears to be/have been an "oil camp": see http://www.randytrahan.com/ocov/lagunillas.htm
Does anyone have local knowledge of either of these? -- The Anome 16:48, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
- Only thing I found was Lagunillas, Zulia, Venezuela (975 km2, 169.400).Municipio Lagunillas (Zulia, Venezuela) in Spanish Wikipedia Monni 17:10, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

Armando Reveron - major problem at a bad time
I just saw the preview of the big Reveron retrospective at MOMA in New York, and then went to the Wiki article. Oh dear. The content looks fine, as far as I can tell, but - I honestly believe the article was produced by putting a foreign language (presumably Spanish) article through an automatic translator like Babelfish. Nothing else would explain it. My favorite sentence is:
- "Just a short time later dumb and he begun to construct, a little to the south, the tower that would be used to him as mulberry for the rest of his life"
But there's plenty more: "...inspired Armando's articist vocation... His yield was worth the recommendation to him of his professors to obtain...In agreement with some students of his life and his builds". I expect this page might get a lot of new visitors over the next couple of months, so it would be a pity if someone who knows the material couldn't do a clean-up. Hope this is helpful. - Thanks! I started editing the article and I'll do what I can before Sunday when the MOMA exhibition begins. Caracas1830 02:01, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
Participation template
Other WikiProjects have userbox template that users can put on their user pages to show that they are members of certain WikiProject. Should we have one for WP Venezuela too? Monni 20:44, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

WP:ACID nom of Simón Bolívar
Hello WP Venezeula, I just realized I never alerted the relevant WikiProjects to the fact that Simón Bolívar is a current ACID nominee. I'm not trying to votestack, I just want all of you to be aware of this and those that are interested can help out. Best, Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 02:18, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

Hello,i wanted to talk about the articles about this subjects,i looked at them recently and saw that besides being terribly small for the importance and relevance FOR DIFERENT COUNTRIES they want to merged them all in one article and do a masacote whit it.So please i urge you to vote for the expansion of this articles rather than their merging. What logic does it have that a war of just one country, the USA,has several articles dealing whit it,some even reaching the 50 kylobites, while the wars of independence of South America that features different countries, ideologies, people is composed mainly of stubs and unreferenced articles. And now they want to merged them!please see whit your own eyes and vote no:

Bilateral relations discussion
I would like to invite you all to participate in a discussion at this thread regarding bilateral relations between two countries. All articles related to foreign relations between countries are now under the scope of WikiProject Foreign relations, a newly created project. We hope that the discussion will result in a more clean and organized way of explaining such relationships. Thank you. Ed ¿Cómo estás? 19:01, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

I think this article should be deleted but didn't want to put it up for AfD or Prod without mentioning it here first. It's basically just an unreferenced summary of other Wikipedia articles, the last from 2005. It isn't current, it's not a common search term and I don't think it's likely to gain enough dedicated editors to maintain a fundamentally flawed article premise. Thoughts? 24.6.65.83 09:58, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
- Would it be more appropriate to redirect the page to the Wikinews category page? I agree that some of the content is way out of date. http://en.wikinews.org/wiki/Category:Venezuela Chadlupkes 18:54, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
- I think the article would better be prod-ed (or AfDed if someone opposes the prod). "Current" is a WTA, specially in an article title. Personally, I don't like interwiki redirects but it would be better than leaving this outdated article. JRSP 19:17, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
"NPOV dispute [Turmero]"
1) Would like to help to improve articles about places in Venezuela that I know, I believe that we could do a better job. I try to edit the article about Turmero in the past, however, they deleted.
2) I believe that this part "Also the trees and birds are part of a beautiful pas, because the government has not become involved in rebuilding and maintaining the garden. This is a place where all the "chavistas" met to discuss Chavez's Socialist Reforms for the XXI century!" in the article of Turmero, does not comply with wikipedia Neutral Point of View WP:NEU. Even though I agree with the statement and that may be a fact too, it is clearly a political point of view. I will edit if is needed.
Verifiability
I can't find anything on Cat Fletcher, Carmelo Torres, and Miriam Fletcher... the main author, User:Cartof, appears to think all is fine.[1] He also claims to be Cat Fletcher himself.[2] I'm ready to believe him, but the problem is that I cannot find any independent confirmation for these three articles. But then, I'm not particularly well-versed in Venezuelan culture... Could anyone help, please? Lupo 13:58, 22 October 2007 (UTC) (Also posted at Wikipedia:Village pump (assistance); further discussion at the talk pages of these articles, please.)
- If User:Cartof is Cat Fletcher, then we have a case of conflict of interest. These articles need more independent sources to claim notability, otherwise they could be proposed for deletion. As they stand now, they look like resumés, not like encyclopedic articles. JRSP 00:28, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
Bolivar Fuerte
I think it is of great importance that a page of the bolivar fuerte should be made. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cosmo.vnz (talk • contribs) 23:14, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
I am very surprised that there is no page in es.wikipedia about the referendum. I don't speak the language, so I can't create it myself, but we might get more content for the english page if we encouraged people to write about it from an inside perspective. Chadlupkes 18:52, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
