Display issues

Hello, Liangent. There seems to be an issue with this userbox. If I display it through a direct link {{User:UBX/fencer|[[Foil (fencing)|foil]]}}, then it displays properly. However, if I apply the template as suggested below, {{User fencer|[[Foil (fencing)|foil]]}}, the info background turns cyan, and the box becomes misaligned when surrounded by other userboxes.
