Lisa Tucker, Kellie Pickler

edit

Re: Lisa Tucker, thanks for considering the need to redirect American Idol semi-finalists to the article for the season, but I think in her case, she is notable enough to merit an article. In addition to being an AI contestant, she was a Star Search finalist and had a role in the Lion King stage production. The same would go for Becky O'Donohue; AI semi-finalist, plus Fear Factor contestant, plus pictorial in Maxim magazine together merit her an article in my view. But by all means, please help me keep the other semi-finalists who have no other achievements redirected. Thanks, Postdlf 03:41, 25 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'd like to mimic Postdlfs comments in terms of Kellie Pickler. She has developed a huge following of fans and is often mentioned as a favorite to win, so it's a little early to delete her article. Please use the talk page before making a major change to a page. --Mercury1 21:49, 25 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned fair use image (Image:B000FS9NEQ.01. SS500 SCLZZZZZZZ V50690598 .jpg)

edit
  This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:B000FS9NEQ.01. SS500 SCLZZZZZZZ V50690598 .jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Fair use rationale for Image:B000HKDBWC.01. SS500 SCLZZZZZZZ V40663211 .jpg

edit
  This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:B000HKDBWC.01. SS500 SCLZZZZZZZ V40663211 .jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as {{fair use}} or {{fair use in|article name}}, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla 18:37, 4 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Current-single-stub

edit

Hi - I have just rolled back your change to the list of stub types. There is no "current-single-stub" template, neither has one been proposed for creation at WP:WSS/P (which is where new stub types are discussed. It is unlikely that such a stub type would be approved, either, since stubs tend to stay on articles until they are expanded, whereas the term "current" implies that the template would be changed to something different once the single was no longer current (making a lot of extra work for stub-sorters). Grutness...wha? 02:37, 22 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

edit

First, you made the change with no explanation (not even an edit summary, which you should always give) or source; I would have reverted it on those grounds alone, but secondly, according to the article on the song, your change was inaccurate, as the song is by Prince. Thirdly, the MoS for dab pages says that entries should ideally have only one linked word or phrase. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 11:37, 3 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Down/Kilo

edit

Hi there! Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that you added the line “Down AKA Kilo, a latino hiphop artist with the single "Lean Like A Cholo"” to the Down disambiguation page. I've removed that item. According to the Manual of Style for Disambiguation Pages, each item on the page should point to one (and only one) Wikipedia article. Since that line did not link to any article, it isn't really appropriate. I also did some brief web searching, and I'm concerned that the artist in question would fail to meet the Notability Guidelines for Music. There are too many musical artists in the world for Wikipedia to have an article on every single one of them. (Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information.) If you think the artist in question would meet the notability guidelines, I suggest creating a new article, being sure to cite reliable sources. If the article passes muster, it should certainly be added to the disambiguation page. If a valid article cannot be created, it really doesn't belong on the dab page, either. If you need help with any of this, feel free to ask at the Help desk or my talk page. Cheers! —DragonHawk (talk|hist) 02:20, 24 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Little context in Alan Grunblatt

edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Alan Grunblatt, by UnitedStatesian, another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Alan Grunblatt is very short providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Alan Grunblatt, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. Fair use rationale for Image:Bad_Day_single.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Bad_Day_single.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Notability of Shawty Lo

edit

A tag has been placed on Shawty Lo requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

Note that here you are commenting on the talk page of a closed deletion discussion, which won't get much attention. If you think the page should be re-created, consider using a sub-page to do so in your user space, ask the closing admin (User:JForget) to userfy the deleted page, and expand based on that. I would also ask the closing admin to review your final version before moving it yourself, to indicate that they agree the page deals with the issues raised in the AFD discussion (failing WP:MUSIC, WP:N, WP:ITSA and the artist themselves failing to have a wikipedia page). Consider also that it may be better to create the page for V.I.C. and placing the information there instead, until the song obviously passes the guidelines. Of course, you'd have to be sure VIC also passes MUSIC, N and/or BIO. If you've new sources, be sure to include them in the sub-page. WLU (talk) 18:15, 16 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Bobby Brackins

edit

A tag has been placed on Bobby Brackins requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Proposed deletion of Buried Alive (Logic song)

edit

The article Buried Alive (Logic song) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No charts, no sources other than those to prove its existence, fails notability criterion

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. dannymusiceditor Speak up! 00:18, 1 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Dog Love

edit

Hello, Peecee1978

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Padavalamkuttanpilla, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've proposed an article that you started, Dog Love, for deletion because it meets one or more of our deletion criteria, and I don't think that it is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.

If you wish to contest the deletion:

  1. Edit the page
  2. Remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. Click the Publish changes button.

If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Padavalamkuttanpilla}}. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. Thanks!
