WikiProject Stargate
Hello! It seems that you're a Stargate fan. While I don't identify as one myself, I do know some things about it (my sister, who edits as Alfabetikal, is absolutely fanatical about it) and I'd like you to join WikiProject Stargate, if you don't mind. Perhaps you could contribute...? Lockesdonkey 22:52, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
Hello folks!
Hello! Come on in and talk. That's what this page is for afterall.
Dystopian fiction
I noticed you've just created Category:Dystopian Fiction. In fact, great job on rooting out all these titles. However, don't we already have Category:Dystopian fiction? It's set up with Category:Dystopian films and Category:Dystopian novels already as subcategories, and it's also in line with Wikipedia:Naming conventions (capitalization).
Actually, a number of these articles have already been categorized using this scheme. However, I'm going to recommend {{cfm}} (probably merging Category:Dystopian Fiction with Category:Dystopian fiction and then subcategorizing as needed) but I'm not sure if you have anything else planned here, so I wanted to hear back from you first.
–Unint 17:36, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
Yes, that sounds like a good idea to me, and I'll probably assist with subcategorizing the articles as well. Beno1000 15:11, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
Sorry
I briefly blocked you by mistake. I'm sorry for any inconvenience. Tom Harrison Talk 13:39, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
no.
No. Click on the link in the AfD boilerplate at the top, that takes you to the deletion page: The nomination always contains the reasons for nominating. The AfD is not a vote, it's a discussion: hence no discussion needs take place on the article talk. ⇒ SWATJester Ready Aim Fire! 18:47, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
A revised version of the proposed policy against censorship is now open for voting. Will you kindly review the policy and make your opinions known? Thank you very much. Loom91 11:36, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
Are you really saying that you support Monicasdude's accusations of racism? User:Zoe|(talk) 02:02, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
Would you consider changing your vote to keep the information if it were merged with List of groups referred to as cults or expanded into a broader topic: "The Transition from Cult to Religion." That might make a very interesting wikipedia article. cairoi 18:11, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you. I thought that somewhere it would make worthwhile information too. cairoi 03:17, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
Welcome to Esperanza!
Welcome, Beno1000, to Esperanza, the Wikipedia member association! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association.
Now that you are a member you should read the guide to what to do now or you may be interested in some of our programs. A quite important program is the StressUnit, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. We will send you newsletters to keep you up to date. Also, we have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.
In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Possibles.
I encourage you to take an active voice in the running of Esperanza. We have a small government system, headed by our Administrator general, Celestianpower, and guided by the Advisory Committee comprised of JoanneB, FireFox and Titoxd. The next set of elections will be in April, we will keep you updated about the results. Because you are a new member, you are not able to vote in these elections, but you will be more than welcome to take part in the elections in June.
If you have any other questions, concerns, comments, or general ideas, Esperanzian or otherwise, know that you can always contact Celestianpower by email or talk page or the Esperanza talk page. Alternatively, you could communicate with fellow users via our IRC channel, #wikipedia-esperanza (which is also good for a fun chat or two :). If you're new to IRC, you may find help at an IRC Tutorial. I thank you for joining Esperanza, and look forward to working with you in making Wikipedia a better place to work!

Vandalism from St Francis Xavier's College IP address.
Hello. I am a student at St Francis Xavier's college (User talk:195.194.185.41), and I have noticed that the IP address has been blocked because of vandalism originating from within the college. If any admins would like to use me as a liason between the college and Wikimedia I would be happy to do this to help prevent future vandalism to Wikipedia from the college. Thanks. Beno1000 10:22, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
- I'll take up your offer if you want. I'm helping out with a project to deal with this sort of thing (WP:ABUSE). If you need to email me with details you can use the link via my userpage. Thanks for helping out :) Petros471 13:47, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for accepting the offer. I've sent you an Email as to what's happening so far. Beno1000 14:08, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
- As discussed, I've unblocked the IP. Sorry about that. Meanwhile, it would indeed be nice if you can talk to your administrators about the vandalism. Thanks. --Nlu (talk) 15:33, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
- Got your email, and in the process of replying to it and setting up a proper WP:ABUSE subpage. I'll let you know when I've done that. Thanks again for your help. Cheers, Petros471 20:45, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
- I've created a basic page at Wikipedia:Abuse reports/195.194.185.41, it would be best if you could move the research you've done so far to that page (I'd rather not have all those personal details showing to everyone who uses that IP). Hopefully you'll be able to make contact with a school admin soon then we can take it from there. Email reply coming up... Petros471 21:02, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks. I've moved the research about the suspects to this page and replied to your Email. Beno1000 21:24, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
- Any news? Petros471 14:50, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks. I've moved the research about the suspects to this page and replied to your Email. Beno1000 21:24, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

Welcome to VandalProof!
Thank you for your interest in VandalProof, Beno1000! You have now been added to the list of authorized users, so if you haven't already, simply download and install VandalProof from our main page. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or any other moderator, or you can post a message on the discussion page. Prodego talk 18:27, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
When using VandalProof its kind of pointless to warn Tawkerbot2 - its my automated vandalism fighting bot, and I normally remove such warnings :o -- Tawker 22:17, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

Recurring characters in Last of the Summer Wine
I placed some information on the Recurring characters in Last of the Summer Wine section of Wikipedia. The information I put there was taken directly from Last of the Summer Wine episodes. These episodes air in the United States, more specifically in the region where I live, once a week. Although we are not as up to date with these episodes, the episodes recently aired have been from sometime between 2003 and 2005. The information was taken directly from episodes during this timeframe. I do not find what I posted to be false, and I have no means or intention to "vandalize" this site. Thank you. Bct88 02:34, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry about that then. I'm recording an error in the anti-vandal software I'm using. Thanks for contacting me about this. Beno1000 13:13, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
Chapin Sisters
Hi,
I wanted to let you know that I've removed the prod tag from the Chapin Sisters article. I believe that they meet WP:MUSIC based on a national tour. Please see the talk page for details. ScottW 01:07, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

Can you help me with Suicide Sunday? Anonymous people from different IPs keep adding unverifiable information about particular non-notable societies to the page, which is a magnet for vandalism. I tried to stub the article but someone keeps adding the information on societies (now probably libelous) back in. --Grouse 14:30, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
- Replied at your talk page. Beno1000 14:37, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks. The problem with the IP addresses is that some of them are University of Cambridge web cache addresses used by thousands of people and would therefore be difficult to block.
- Replied at your talk page. Beno1000 14:42, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
- I don't think that removing unsourced POV cruft like "(the oldest and most prestigious in Cambridge)" is vandalism. I'd really rather get rid of all of the mentions of specific societies, as I think it is a magnet for people to put in stuff about their own society or vandalize the ones they don't like, but I don't want to fall foul of WP:3RR. --Grouse 17:37, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
3RR/Vandalism
The WP:3RR specifically excludes reverting vandalism. So if it is clearly vandalism as defined by policy then revert away! (But also report to AIV like you did so they can be blocked after being warned). Cheers, Petros471 18:05, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
Silly Person
One of your recent edits was to change Ireland as in the province Northern Ireland, to Island as in a blob of land in the middle of the water, please correct your mistake. - Aled D 14:31, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
- Copy of the response at your talk page:
- Actually, the edit wasn't a mistake and if you look at the edit history I changed the mistake from island, as you say "as in a blob of land in the middle of the water" to Ireland as in the country and the province of Nothern Ireland. the edit history is here so you can verify that if you want. Thanks. Beno1000 00:44, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
Oh right my appologises, somehow i thought it was the other way around. l8z - Aled D 06:58, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

I note that you requested for this person to be blocked at Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism however I also note that every warning this user has been given, from initial contact through to test4, was given after they had stopped vandalising: we can't really block this user unless they continue to vandalise after receiving warnings about it. Having not received any feedback from their initial edit they may have continue in the same vein assuming that this behaviour was acceptable: please assume good faith until proven otherwise. -- Francs2000 20:01, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
BadBoyBoomChang
Moved from Userbox page
- Hello sorry about this, I don't know where to write this. The sock puppet change is a valid contribution as it is known as a BadBoyBoomChang in various internet communities especially amoungst the Miami hacker conventions. This is probably the wrong place to write this, but I feel this is a valid point. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fenboy (talk • contribs)
Nancy Dell'Olio
Hi, please can you remove the deletion tag from this page. I found this project on the requested articles page, under celebrities. This woman is a celebrity in the UK. Type her name into google... you will find lots of sites. It takes me a while to load the info, and every time I do the page is deleted. I hope you understand this is frustrating!
