Some proposed changes
editThis edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
DISCLAIMER: I am proposing the following edits on behalf of LANCK Telecom
EDIT 1: I propose to expand the first paragraph of the article by updating it in terms of produsts and services offered by the company. The company provides not only call termination services, but also SMS termination services, messaging services and fraud protection, which can be verified by visiting these company pages: https://lancktele.com/ https://lancktele.com/voice-sms/ https://lancktele.com/fraud-protection/ as well as external sources such as this one: https://carriercommunity.com/sponsor/lanck-telecom/
Therefore, I propose that the first paragraph of the article should represent relevant information about the services rendered by the company and thus should look like this:
"LANCK Telecom is an international communications provider, offering call and SMS termination, messaging services and telecom fraud protection.[1] As an international long-distance carrier (IXC) LANCK Telecom cooperates with telecommunications companies and telephone card providers worldwide."
EDIT 2: I propose that the history of the company should be added as well. The history of the company can be taken from the milestones on the "About" page on the official website https://lancktele.com/about/. I suggest that the history section should look like this:
History
The company was founded in 2001 in Saint-Petersburg, Russia. The same year LANCK Telecom started providing voice transit services.[2]
Later in 2003, the company launched Mainline teleport in Frankfurt am Main. In 2004 LANCK Telecom released its OSS/BSS solution - Telejet Carrier Suite, a Voice traffic management system. In 2005 Smart Routing System and Hong Kong point of presence were launched. In 2006 LANCK started offering their premium voice product with 100% CLI, roaming, and fax support available.
In 2007-2010 LANCK Telecom has launched points of presence in Great Britain, the USA, Finland, Singapore, Poland and South Africa.
In 2012 LANCK Telecom was nominated for “Best Central & Eastern European Wholesale Carrier” at Capacity Awards Conference.[3] And in 2013–2015 the company was nominated for “Best International Wholesale Carrier” at the Telecoms World Middle East Awards for three years in a row.
In 2014 LANCK Telecom introduced messaging services.
In 2017-2018 the company has launched its fraud management system.[4]
In 2018 LANCK Telecom received Best community member operator of the year award at the 2018 Carrier Community Global Awards.
In 2019 the company joined i3forum[5] and the Communications Fraud Control Association.[6][7]
EDIT 3:
I propose that the services rendered by the company should be expanded and the information be given with more details and more links to other wikipedia articles. Thus I suggest that the section Services should be created along with the following internal subsections (Voice services, Messaging services, RCS, Fraud Management System). I propose that it may look like this:
Services Voice services LANCK Telecom offers voice call services for MNOs, MVNOs, and fixed line operators all over the world. The company provides call termination to 190 countries with 100% CLI, DTMF, roaming and fax support for each destination.[8]
Messaging Services LANCK Telecom provides messaging services including bulk SMS, OTP and notification SMS through its global network of MNOs & MVNOs, as well as niche aggregators all over the world. Lanck Telecom platform supports various types of messages such as A2P, P2P, and 2-way messages as well as WhasApp Business and RCS.[8]
RCS LANCK Telecom is one of the earliest adopters of RCS technology, being involved since early 2018. They are a direct partner of Google and Mavenir [9] for both technology and platform, and a prominent participant in Google & GSMA RCS Developer events and discussions. LANCK is an active member of GSMA’s RCS working groups as an industry expert, solution provider & interconnect partner.
Fraud Management System LANCK Telecom offers a Fraud Management System for protection against telecom fraud. The system works in real time and is aimed at eliminating losses caused by fraud attacks.[10]
The Fraud Management System features signaling level protection with fraud detection and blocking, machine learning algorithms, and custom threshold-based rules for each destination.[11]
The system works with SIP signaling, SS7 and accounting messages (RADIUS and DIAMETER).[12]
LANCK Telecom Fraud Management System protects carriers, operators and enterprises from the following types of fraud:[13]
- International revenue share fraud
- Robocalls (including robocalls with CLI Spoofing)
- CLI Spoofing
- Call Stretching
- Interconnect Bypass Fraud
- Wholesale Fraud
- Spamming
- Subscription Fraud
- PBX Hacking
- Wangiri
- Wangiri 2.0[14]
- SIM Cloning
- Mobile Malware
EDIT 4: I propose that another section should be added to the article. The section should be called "Wangiri 2.0 – discovery". The section should be added because it gives important information about a new type of phone fraud not recognized before and thus raises awareness among telecom community and businesses. I suggest the new section should look like this:
Wangiri 2.0 – discovery LANCK Telecom has discovered a new type of fraud similar to Wangiri fraud.
The Classic Wangiri fraud is targeted at retail customers. The customer reads their “missed call” notification and a certain percentage of them call back this number, incurring high cost per minute.
With this new type of fraud which LANCK Telecom named “Wangiri 2.0”, the target is businesses that do a significant volume of international voice calls. These are usually call centers or the customer support services of large corporations. The bots or scripts fill in the online forms with fraudulent numbers. The businesses treat these filled out sales inquiry forms as important sales leads, call back to these fraudulent numbers and incur losses.
Another case of Wangiri 2.0 is when fraudsters fill online forms for One-Time Password delivery. These passwords are used for authentication of new users, important operations etc. These passwords are delivered via voice messages. With growing number of calls like this businesses suffer losses to fraud.[14][15]
Wangiri 2.0 is characterized by:
- High conversion of attacks
- Large pool of potential victims
- This fraud scenario is unknown to enterprises, and is only starting to be recognized as fraud by operators & carriers.
EDIT 5:
I propose that a section about memberships associations the company is a part of should be added:
Memberships and key associations
EDIT 6: I propose that a section about company's awards and recognition should be added
Awards and recognitions: Best community member operator of the year 2018 CC Global Awards
EDIT 7: I propose that "See also" section with other relevant articles should be added:
