DescriptionGuanyin (Dali Kingdom, China), Asian Art Museum (6016444771).jpg
This pair of gilt bronze standing Guanyins are typical of those from the Kingdom of Dali, which existed from 937 to 1253 in what is Yunnan Province, China today.
The Dali Guanyins are styled after an Indian monk who introduced Avalokitesvara/Guanyin worship to the area around 600 AD.
