Jewish?

Is emile Hirsch jew?

Doubt it, his first name is Emile which is German(what kind of Jew gives they're child a German name?) and Hershel or Herschel is the Yiddish form of Hirsch, so I would say hes not Jewish.
I agree with the above statement, however, many Jewish people like German cars. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.189.35.249 (talk) 17:59, 10 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
"what kind of Jew gives their child a German name?" Yeah, and what kind of Jews keep German family names like Rosenberg, Rothschild, Mandelbaum etc. pp. Why don't they change it to Yael, Shimon or Meir? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.36.251.129 (talk) 20:04, 30 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
Actually, he is more than likely Jewish. But there is no real info out there right now. It should come out eventually.Vulturell 09:06, 5 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
He is, unless one of his best friends has the wrong information.
I don`t know, but since "Hirsch" is the german word for "deer" and a quite common name of German jews (compare: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Otto_Hirsch or http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helle_Hirsch or http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julius_Hirsch, I guess he is of (partial) German origin. Maybe his (grand)grandfather was one of the Jews who had been lucky enough to leave Germany in the 1930s.

I know for a fact he isn't, I am a huge fan and He added me on myspace, after i met him, and he is not a jew, but unfortunately I now have no prove because he deleted him profile so, you prblly think im lieing but, I dont care you cant prove that either
My dad's middle name is Emil and we are jewish. And our last name a common British name but is of 6th century German origin so saying someone isn't jewish because of their name is crap unless their name is Hitler.--173.64.201.181 (talk) 05:29, 8 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
Are you guys dense or what? many Ashkenazi Jews have German, British, Polish, Russian, and even sometimes Spanish names the reason for this is that they took on popular surnames of the countries they inhabited to either assimilate or avoid persecution. JUST LIKE AMERICANS DID. Most Americans have British surnames. Since when was Johnson an African name? yet thousands of African Americans have the surname. Honestly how hard is it to understand that? it also doesn't automatically point to them being part of the ancestry the surname came from, again is every African American with the name Smith part English? no the surnames were given to them. American has millions upon millions of Germans, yet guess what? not a single German surname in the top 20 American surname list. Because most of them changed their surnames to assimilate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:306:C4EA:CA0:9DBC:5FDD:405B:EE9B (talk) 23:57, 11 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

How did he go from looking like hid did in TGND to the way he look in AD? At first I thought I was looking at Leonardo's brother when the movie came on awhile ago and then i realized Liev Schriber aint that old and i put 2 and 2 together.74.195.3.199 05:52, 4 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Started Acting at What Age?

He can't have been born in 1985 and yet also started acting in the late 1990's "at the age of 8." IMDB lists no credits before 1997, and he's obviously older than 18, so I think the age is in error. Perhaps someone with more definite knowledge can correct the page. 68.80.50.49 02:14, 7 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

essex9999 He started at a very young age for very minor roles, and they just stared to get major. Emile is 23.

Resemblance to Jack Black

Ain't they brothers? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.176.135.16 (talk) 16:14, 19 February 2008 (UTC) Emile does look kind of like Jack Black but, they are not brothers, and Emile is like the really hot, thin, and young jack black. Emile also has a pretty nice body, and yes im a girl. —Preceding unsigned comment added by AutumnHirsch (talkcontribs) 08:27, 5 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Conviction for assault header

Why do people keep reverting it back to legal troubles? Conviction for assault is a factually correct description of the paragraph it heads. There's no "legal troubles" in the sense most people would understand it. Tombomp (talk/contribs) 08:53, 9 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
