"Be Good to Me" is Ashley Tisdale's first single from her debut album, Headstrong. The single was released in the U.S. on December 25, 2006 and in South America on January, 2007. The song was included in the album Radio Disney Jams, Vol. 10 on January 22, 2008 and is included in the 2007 hit sales brazilian compilation album CD Luv! - Vol 3. It is also heard in the video game Thrillville: Off The Rails and in the multiplayer online casual rhythm game DANCE! Online.

At the same time though she doesn’t want to end the relationship, just fix it. The song was sent to Radio Disney in January 2007, and has moved from #18 to number #7 on Radio Disney's Top 30, where it had remained in the Top 10 songs. "Be Good to Me" debuted on AOL Music: First Listen on December 22 2006.[1] It debuted on Radio Disney on December 25 2006 and on January 9 was released to iTunes. On January 28 2007, the song appeared on the iTunes Top 100 Songs at #89, despite being only released for Radio Disney. On March 17, the single debuted on the Brazilian charts at #76.

Tisdale's song "He Said She Said" was originally set to be her official first single, however her record label has decided to use "Be Good to Me" featuring David Jassy as the official first single. As of March 27, the song has been added to (New York's #1 hit music station) Z100's playlist at #30.[2]

The song has been listed on the Billboard Hot 100. It entered the chart on position #96 on week 7/2007, it's last appearance was on week 8/2007. It peaked on number #80, where it stayed for 1 week. in October, 2007, this song peaked number #1 at the Top 40 singles chart in Chile.

Music video

The video was shot just before one of the High School Musical concerts. The same dancers from her concert for High School Musical were used in the performance for this video. Tisdale, wearing a blue sequined tank top and denim underwear shorts, danced around and ran down a rusted blue bridge, surrounded by four boys. There was a large screen in the background that switched vibrantly colored designs. Tisdale posted a bulletin on her official MySpace saying that the video would premiere on January 24, 2007 on KOL. She also wrote that Disney Channel will premiered it on January 25, 2007 after Sister, Sister. On 14 April, 2007 this music video was premiered how "First Look" by TRL in MTV. [3]

Commercial release

According to AllAccess.com, "Be Good To Me" was released as the album's first official single. It was released to mainstream radio on March 6 2007.

  • The "Be Good to Me" Music video was said to be made only because Disney Channel didn't want to air "He Said, She Said" saying it is too 'racy' for the channel.
  • Mainstream radio primarily played the album version featuring David Jassy's rap, but Radio Disney instead played an edited version without the rap.
  • A rumor in some websites said that "Be Good To Me" would have a re-release with a new music video and a storyline (as He Said She Said, or Not Like That). The rumor did not prove to be true, although nothing was confirmed.
  • This song was used for a promoting "Tooth Tunes" this electronic toothbrush that lets you hear "Be Good To Me" while you brush [12]
  • "Who I Am" and "It's Life", b-sides on the single of "Be Good To Me" are on the Wal-Mart edition of Headstrong.
  • The "Be Good To Me" single covers on iTunes are the same used on the "He Said She Said" single,[13] except the "Be Good To Me" EP cover is wider.
