Comment: These translations from the Russian are about worthwhile subjects (pleasingly unlike the vanity borderline junk that fills AfC), and clearly a lot of work has gone into them. If edited in various ways, they'd be very worthwhile additions to this encyclopedia. I worked on, and promoted, A Birch Grove. And then I worked on, but neither accepted no declined, Draft:Taking a Snow Town. Now we have another draft with references such as "Круглов В. Ф. Исаак Левитан. — М.: Арт-Родник, 2001. — 50 с. — (Золотая галерея русской живописи). — ISBN 5-88896-051-9." Why the dashes? Does "М.:" perhaps mean "Москва:"? What's the meaning of, or need for, "50 c."? And outside this one reference, why are the titles of paintings and periodicals not italicized? I can't work up enthusiasm for making the same kind of edit again and again. Perhaps another editor can. (Being bilingual, Kseni-kam would be excellently qualified to do this kind of work.) <ref>Государственная Третьяковская галерея — каталог собрания / Я. В. Брук, Л. И. Иовлева. — <abbr>М.</abbr>: Красная площадь, 2001. — V. 4: Живопись второй половины XIX века, book 1, А—М. — P. 463. — <nowiki>ISBN 5-900743-56-X</nowiki>.</ref>
Why the dashes around "P. 463", the dash in front of "M.", and the dash in front of "V. 4" ? What is "M." an abbreviation for, and why use the abbr tag for it? Is 463 the number of the relevant page, or the total page count? Why render the ISBN difficult to use when you could instead employ Template:ISBN? -- Hoary (talk) 01:57, 3 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Kseni-kam: The reason they are not working here is that the bibliography section is formatted as plain text, not with citation templates ({{cite book}} or {{cite journal}}). You can either change the bibliography to use citation templates, or change the references to plain text. Hope that helps. Cerebellum (talk) 01:06, 13 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
