Away for a while

Hi all

Just to say I am going away on Sunday for 3 weeks & will therefore not be around making cards or commenting. I am sorry that I have not been getting around to my favourite blogs lately but life has just been getting in the way & card making has taken a back seat.
I am so looking to this holiday in particular as one of my sisters emigrated to NZ around 8/9 years ago & I have not seen her in all that time, BUT she is flying into the UK on Sunday for 6 weeks & then next Wednesday flying out to spend a week  in Cyprus with me & our youngest sister at my home there with no men!!!
Can you imagine what a reunion that is going to be?
Take care one & all & I will see you soon hopefully with a tan lol.
Dawn x

Funny Male Card

This is for my brother in law! The paper is Bo Bunny Timepiece collection. The image is one of a stamp set I bought whilst at Stamparama last month by Dimension Fourth & one of the wrinklies, as is the sentiment. I have coloured with Promarkers & mounted onto a Nestie. The brown strips are suede which I saved from a chocolate box at some point or another. The tabs are SU. All edges distressed with Walnut Stain TH ink. Added a couple of buttons & 2 eyelets onto which I added a little more suede strip & I male card finished!

Tilda & Bath Tub

Last Tuesday night my crafting friends & I went to Sir Stamp A Lot for a class using Magnolia stamps. We are lucky as there are enough of us to have our own class & we always have a laugh & get to spend money in the shop afterwards. I had seen Tilda in Bath Cap & the Bath Tub in the latest collection Prince & Princess, so of course I just had to have them alongside some of the new papers in the collection. They also had a sale of dies & I spotted this one saying bliss & thought it would go perfectly with these images & even better was it cost 50p!.
Anyway back to my card. The paper is from Wild Rose Studio & the pack is called Bella, there really are some fab papers in this pack, so can see this getting well used. The image is as above & coloured with Promarkers with a little Prisma highlighting & on the bubbles I have used Stickles to make them sparkle.
The tag is a Magnolia die onto which I have stuck the Sissix die ''bliss'', which has been coloured with Promarkers & then Stickled. The flower die is the Memory Box Catalina border which I have cut in half & stuck to the card. The leaf punch is MS Pine  & flowers & ribbon from stash. Oh & a few dew drops too.

Divas Favourite Things

Time for Team B to showcase this weeks Divas challenge & this week its your favourite things, so that should give you a lot of scope for your entry.
This week its sponsored by Crafty Pad .

My card is yet another Tilda, I just love these images & seem to make more of these than ever before. She is Lovley Pop Tilda from the latest Sweet Crazy Love Collection. I have coloured her with Promarkers & Prisma pencils. She is mounted onto Tulip Walkway from Butterfly Dreams 2011, which is again coloured with Promarkers. I have used 3d foam so as Tilda is standing proud of the background. All papers from stash, I am rubbish at remembering what pad they came from. All edges are distressed using TH Pine Needles Distress Ink. I created a frame & used Liquid Pearls around the edges. Birdcage is a Marianne Creatable die & the dragonfly is a Magnolia die..

The flowers are from stash, although the middle one I made myself using punches & a spacer. Charm from stash added too.
Now you may ask, what is my favourite thing, well most of us have our most recent purchase as our favourite thing right now, so it will be the Spring Border by Memory Box that I have used across the bottom, I adore this & any follower of my blog will see that I have used it several times recently.

Dream Valley Mothers Day

This fortnights challenge over at Dream Valley is Mothers Day & is sponsored by both OSCC & Crafty Ribbons.

This is a card I made ages ago as it was a request for someone at hubbys work who wanted a plainish card with no real embellishments, which was quite hard to do lol. I just let the papers do the creating with a few candy drops & ribbon.
Anyway its pretty simple, can't remember where the papers came from, a MS punch was used to create the edges. The tag is Magnolia & the sentiment is by Anna Griffin.
I must admit, I dont like making Mothers Day cards as I have noone to send them too, however enough of my ramblings.
Don't forget to go on over & take a look at my fellow teamies cards at Dream Valley as there are some stunning creations over there

Spring Colours

It seems such a long time since I posted anything on here, well over a week anyway! I just haven't felt like being creative & lost my mojo. I know it happens to us all, but sometimes life just gets in the way of being crafty.
Anyway, I sat down this afternoon & made this card. I love this Tilda with Lace Jeans from Butterfly Dreams 2011 collection & coloured her with a mixture of Distress Inks, Promarkers & Prisma pencils (ther's nothing like using all your colouring mediums is there)?
The papers used are Bo Bunny Barefoot & Bliss Collection & all have been distressed with TH Mustard Seed ink.
The lace is from my stash & I have layered the papers up as per the sketch over at TOMIC this week. On the first picture you can just see some woven material. Well when I went away to Yorkshire last November, with my crafting friends, we had a bin of torture, where we pulled a parcel out of the bag & had to make a card with some or all of the goodies we had picked out. Of course everyone had put in stuff they no longer wanted or didn't like & I got various bits of this material, well I knew I would use it at some point, apart from the card I had to make whilst there  lol.
The die is Spring Border by Memory Box & I picked that up at Stevenage last month & this is its first outing. Doily once again distressed & from stash. My friend bought 250 from Central which is a Thai cookery place on the A1 near us, amazing what you can find & much cheaper than craft shops, as they were  £1.20 for 250!!
Sentiment is a SU one & a corner punch used on the corners.

The flower was originally a white one & in the new Magnolia magazine, it shows how to change the colour using inks & Mica powders, so I had a go, I used a Brilliance ink pad first to colour, then a transparent ink pad & then used Mica powder to create the glossy shimmery effect. Its not really visible too clearly in the photo but its looks gorgeous in real life.

& there you have my first card for over a week, I have made my DT cards which are coming up over the next few days, so will be back soon.
