Wonderful & Kind...CR84FN51 75

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, March 31, 2012 @ 8:55 PM | , , , , ,

Hello there! It's time for an all new CR84FN Color Challenge BUT before I get to today's colors and project, we at CR84FN have some EXCITING news to share! We are proud to announce that both the super talented Pauline Pollington and Shannon White will be joining our DT! You may be familiar with both of these designers as they both have been CR84FN Guest Designers at some point and have played along with many, many challenges. Please be sure to visit the CR84FN site to see what all the ladies have created using the pretty pastel CR84FN51 color combo that were chosen by DT member Heather.

For the next two weeks, we will be playing with the soft color palette shown below:
I created a layout featuring sweet Meredith surrounded by an abundance of pretty flowers:
I made this layout using LOTS of home made flowers along with several store bought ones. Last week, you may have seen the mini album that I shared for the Pink Paislee / Clear Scraps blog hop event featuring the Pink Paislee London Market collection well, all the home made flowers on this layout were leftover from that project! LOVE when that happens :) Shown in the photo below, the word print patterned and pink blossoms were made using prints from the Pink Paislee London Market collection and dies from Spellbinders Rose Creations and Grand Peony Creations:
Shown in the photo below is: a pretty doily made using pretty paper from the Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden collection using a Spellbinders Splendid Circles die, another pink Peony and a word print rose:
For sketch inspiration, I played along with the current My Creative Sketches challenge:

She Loved New Beginnings... 40

Mona Pendleton | Friday, March 30, 2012 @ 11:00 PM | , , , , ,

Hi there! Hope you are having a great weekend! Scott and I both had the day off from work Friday so we went to the movies to see The Hunger Games. It was a good movie but I have to admit, I prefer a good "chick flick" :) I had some "me" time so I made this page in my art journal using a variety of products, many from the Pink Paislee Spring Jubilee collection:
I gave my girl a long braid, (one of the many things I learned from taking Christy Tomlinson's She Art workshop) along with a painted posey:
The butterflies were cut out from a pretty piece of Spring Jubilee patterned paper. For a little texture, I added a few dots of puffy:
I tore a Collage Card from the Pink Paislee Spring Jubilee in half, adhered it to the page then layered ink, paint and rub ons on top of the patterned paper. I used a journaling pen to highlight the preprinted"spring was calling" sentiment:
I incorporated a lot of stamps from the Spring Jubilee including the beautiful butterfly / sentiment shown below on her dress:
For color inspiration, I played along with the current Colour Q Challenge:
Thanks so much for visiting ~ hope you have a wonderful weekend! Be Sweet :)

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Pink Paislee Spring Jubilee, Flower stamp and leaves from SU
Patterned Paper: Pink Paislee Spring Jubilee, Vintage Vogue

Artful Play... 41

Mona Pendleton | Thursday, March 29, 2012 @ 12:25 AM | , , , , ,

Hi there! I had the day off from work, I'm caught up on DT projects and I've been wanting to play with some ink! I pulled out my Art Journal along with various products that I've been hoarding and this is what I came up with:
This page was made using an assortment of products. The sweet bird and birdcage was cut using the Sizzix Tim Holtz birdcage/bird die along with Tim Holtz Grungeboard. The birdcage was painted with Ranger Acrylic Gold sponge dauber and the bird was first inked using Tim Holtz Broken China and Tea dye Distress inks then a layer of Distress Rock Candy was applied to give it a crackled appearance.
The fun SCRABBLE like tiles were cut using Spellbinders Mix'd Media Playtime dies. I hope Spellbinders makes an ENTIRE tile alphabet! How fun would that be?!
I recently "discovered" a new challenge: Stamper Sunday managed by the very talented designer: Hels Sheridan. I'm entering this in the current challenge which is to create a project focusing on the theme: BIRDS.

Many thanks for visiting ~ hope you have a great day! Be Sweet :)

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Delta Music Note BG, Tim Holtz
Dies: Spellbinders Mix'd Media Playtime, Sizzix birdcage, Vagabond machine
Ink: lots of Ranger: Color Washes, Distress inks, Rock Candy, Acrylic Paint, Perfect Pearls, Liquitex ink and Gesso
Paper: Ranger Grungeboard
Others: Crafter's Workshop stencils

Pink Paislee & Clear Scraps Blog Hop Day 3 51

Mona Pendleton | Wednesday, March 28, 2012 @ 5:00 AM | , , , ,

Hi Everyone! Welcome to Day 3 of the Pink Paislee and Clear Scraps Blog Hop!
I have a mini album to share that was made using a fun Clear Scraps Wave shaped Clear Acrylic Shaped album along with beautiful products from the Pink Paislee London Market collection. Love the curves of the acrylic wave shape album ~ adds a touch of elegance! To create this mini album, I first die cut various patterned papers from the 6" x 6" Petite Paper Pack for the main background of each page, then I added my photos and adorned each page with lots of fun product. The cover features: a fun little British heart shaped banner and label from the Ephemera pack, blossoms made using pretty patterned paper and alphabet Bitty Blocks from the Indigo Bleu collection. These little letters are so versatile and make for great titles, journaling and sentiments on so many of your papercrafting projects.
How fun and elegant are the crowns shown below accented with glittery goodness???
As you can see, I used love of pretty pieces from the London Market Ephemera. The sweet bird, decorative doily and postage stamp are just a few in this pack of goodies!
I adhered some glitter to the bird piece for a little extra texture and shimmer:
Couldn't resist adding a little British flag :)
I layered the butterfly pieces and adhered a Chipboard button that I sponged with green ink to the center. I made a sentiment banner using an image from the London Market Clear Stamps.
Love the Vintage birdcage Ephemera piece:
and wrapping it up with the last two pages full of gorgeous Ephemera and flowers made using pretty London Market patterned paper:
I can't get enough of those fun Vintage Spool Buttons ~ I think they can dress up pretty much anything and make it look fabulous!
Thanks so much for visiting! I hope you enjoyed my project!

Don’t forget about the grand prize package at the end of the week! All you have to do is leave a comment on the Pink Paislee blog all week long, and you’ll be in the running for the grand prize that will go to one lucky winner at the end of the week! And be sure to stop by the Clear Scraps blog all week long, as well, to check out more lovely creations and for more chances at prizes!

Hello there! Hope you are all having a great week! It's time for an all new Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge! Makiko is our wonderful hostess and she is challenging us all to create an Easter themed project.

The pretty flowers are from: Botanical Bookplates Vol. 1, the 25 cents image is from: Seeds of Friendship and the Alleluia sentiment is from He Is Risen:

Hello there! Hope you are all off to a great start of a new week! It's been a little while since I created a layout so I am caught up with DT commitments, I thought I would take the time to do just that. Mona Pendleton | Saturday, March 24, 2012 @ 9:00 PM | , , ,

Hi there! Hope you all are having a super weekend! I love to vacation but it is always great to be home, sleeping in my own bed and loving my little four legged furry friends :) It's the final week for  the CR84FN50 Color Challenge and Shannon's last week as our Guest Designer. I would like to thank Shannon for sharing all her beautiful projects with us over the past month. If you haven't played along yet with CR84FN50 or would like to make another project, you still have nearly a week to do so.
I made this card for a dear blogging friend in celebration of her birthday. I combined pretty patterned papers from the Pink Paislee Spring Jubilee collection along with stamps from the Artistic Outpost Bloom & Grow set.
Using the various dies from the Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms set and patterned paper from the Pink Paislee Spring Jubilee collection, I made a few homespun blossoms of my own featured on the seed packet:
