[edit]All sound files found in Category:Qur'an recitation will be tagged with deletion notice, as there is no proof that they are really PD. Please provide more info on them, before I tag the sound files.--Diaa abdelmoneim (talk) 20:28, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
Quran files
[edit]Basically, I was asked to look at them (on IRC) and we agreed that the rationale wasn't enough to result in an acceptable licence, and given that the Internet archive has little quality control with regards to rationales, it was agreed they were best deleted.
I wouldn't have done it if I thought there any chance of getting a valid free-use rationale, but I checked the site the Internet Archive got them from, and no chance, at least in the short term.
I don't like doing this: Arabic and Muslim music are both underrepresented. But what could be done? Adam Cuerden (talk) 21:46, 23 April 2009 (UTC)

[edit]Assalamualaykum, Just noticed that you've uploaded a number of PDF files containing Arabic text from individual Surahs of the glorious Qur'an. MashaAllah, that is very good work! May Allah SWT reward you aplenty (ameen). Wassalaam. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Elazeez) Contributions/59.160.74.254 10:22, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

Surahs has been listed at Commons:Categories for discussion so that the community can discuss ways in which it should be changed. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry. If you created this category, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for discussion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it. If the category is up for deletion because it has been superseded, consider the notion that although the category may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new category. In all cases, please do not take the category discussion personally. It is never intended as such. Thank you! |
