Description

Símbolo de fé e farol de Guimarães, o Santuário da Penha é um monumento de singular beleza e valia arquitectónica e religiosa.

O Santuário da Penha é um exemplar único da arquitectura religiosa de Marques da Silva. Em 1930, o reconhecido arquitecto, um verdadeiro “amigo da Penha”, ficou incumbido do projecto e da escolha do local de implantação. Os trabalhos de regularização do terreno começaram em 6 de Agosto do mesmo ano. Inaugurado em 1947, é um monumento de singular beleza e valia arquitectónica e religiosa.
