Summary
[edit]DescriptionEmma Focacci, Miniature oil painting 'Fabiola par Henner'.jpg |
English: An original miniature oil painting titled 'Fabiola par Henner' by Italian artist Emma Focacci (1882-1956).[1]
The study is a reproductions of Jean-Jacques Henner's most famous portrait titled 'Saint Fabiola', On the reverse it reads; 'Via Arnolfo 53 Firenze'. "Focacci made copies, decorative flower paintings & reproduction miniatures of the Renaissance masters of the Uffizi gallery, which she regularly visited to earn a living in the harsh post-war times in an apartment located at 53 Via Arnolfo, Florence".[2] By looking at satellite images, it seems the building was demolished to make way for traffic. The miniature measures at ~7.62x6cm, the piece is encased (not pictured) in a thin brass frame with glass, no date is given but she would've been active between 1900 to 1950. |
