English: By 1910, immigrants from Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland were the largest single foreign-born group of whites living in Washington State. Over a third of these immigrants were from Norway. Most settled in the Puget Sound, Grays Harbor, and Spokane areas. In this 1923 family portrait, Norwegian-American Andrew Floe and his family stand in front of their farmhouse at Florence, southeast of Stanwood. Many Norwegian-American families lived in this area. Original photograph: 1923. Copied after 1975 by the Museum of History and Industry.
