- That PD rationale is only valid if this depiction of the seal was made by the government. I could not track this depiction back to a federal government website. Jcb (talk) 17:26, 19 February 2017 (UTC)
- This depiction is just a PNG variant, where instead of it having a white background the background is transparent. If this image is to be deleted should the source material also be deleted? Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 19:39, 19 February 2017 (UTC)
- Yes, if the result of this DR is deletion, then this will affect the JPG version as well unfortunately. Jcb (talk) 20:21, 19 February 2017 (UTC)
- That is sad but I was just checking to make sure that another image by the now deceased User:Producer was not deleted due to filling out the form wrong, rather than a genuine copyright violation. Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 11:01, 21 February 2017 (UTC)

- Unfortunately, the new source link is of little help to establish a compatible copyright situation. It states "© 2005-2006, 2012 The New England Air Museum", a statement that may or may not apply to this image. Jcb (talk) 16:33, 8 March 2017 (UTC)

- Keep but retag. This is the Lafayette Escadrille, an American squadron within the French military during the First World War. Obviously PD-US, and even if we're concerned that French copyright might be involved, it's just your average anonymous creation by someone within the squadron. - Do you have any source that this depiction dates from WW I? Jcb (talk) 09:11, 14 March 2017 (UTC)

Kept, PD-USGov. If French license is needed, then Anonymous-EU. Taivo (talk) 20:06, 23 March 2017 (UTC)
