Summary

edit
Description
English: An Eastern Orthodox priest's fingers are positioned thus to form the Greek letters "ΙϹ ΧϹ", the nomina sacra for "ΗϹΟΥϹ ΧΡΙϹΤΟϹ" ("Jesus Christ"), when blessing with his hand. Note that "Ϲ" is frequently how "Σ" was written in medieval Greek manuscripts.
