Summary
editDescription26 Regt Royal Artillery Night Firing At Camp Bastion MOD 45157878.jpg |
English: Soldiers with 26 Regiment Royal Artillery fire illumination rounds from the gun line at Camp Bastion, Helmand Province, Afghanistan in support of soldiers operating nearby.
26 Regiment Royal Artillery was formed as a distinct unit in relatively modern times. It was not until 1947 that 26 Regiment was formed from 4th Field Artillery Brigade, re-uniting batteries which had served together in various forms and under various titles for many years. 26 Regiment Royal Artillery is unique in the Gunners for being the only Regiment to have kept its three original gun batteries (17, 16 and 159).
