AAA Colourful Challenge #10

This month at the AAA Colourful Challenges we have an interesting colourboard. In fact it took me quite some time to come up with a card I like.

I am not the biggest or smallest fan of reg and green together, the gold baubles on the game badge of course it season appropriate.

In the end I came up with a shaker card where the word Merry covers the colour sin the challenge.

I diecut Merry from a cardpanel and I've used Marianne Design COL 1449 for it.

Stamped the Christmas from My Favorite Things Bitty Holiday Wishes with Versafine Claire Morning Mist.

I then built up the shaker pockets with the thinnest of foam strips to separate all the letters and filled them with two sizes of sequins in Gold, Green and Red.

Then I closed the shaker with a strip of cardstock and adhered everything to a cardbase.

Hurricane Charity Hop with Whimsy Stamps

Welcome Whimsy friends to a very special Hop today.
Whimsy Stamps is located in Southwest Florida, which was recently hit by back to back Hurricanes: Helene and Milton.
Our incredible artists at Whimsy Stamps have contributed to a stampset that will be sold to raise money for the people of Florida, who have been affected by the devastation caused during the Hurricanes.
You can purchase this LIMITED EDITION Digital Stamp Set from Whimsy Stamps for $15. It includes four Digital Images and five Christmas themed sentiments, which are included in both red and black options for printing. The proceeds will be donated to a local organization here in SWFL to help with relief efforts. This set will be available until December 25th, after which the set will be retired.

AAA Card Challenge #278: Sketch

Hello, this fortnight we have a sketch again.

For y card I intended to inkblend the shapes (squares) or stamp them, but then I remembered I had the SImon Says Stamp Tri Square die and I thought that was perfect. Of course they don't have to be square shapes, but hey, I like a sketch.

I've diecut it from a cardpanel and traced the openings onto the cardbase and applied Distress inks: Cracked Pistachio, Salvaged Patina and Shaded Lilac.

Stamped the panel with Simon Says Stamp: Tiny words Christmas in Versafine Morning Mist. I thought the grey was better than black.

the Snowflakes are called Snow Crystals from Craft Emotions and I stuck them on the back of the windows, then added foamtape to the back and mounted it to the cardpanel.

Season's Eatings!

Hello, today I made a fall card, Thanksgiving is well knows for it's elaborate dinners, we don't celebrate those in the Netherlands, but we and others have been known to eat Turkey for Christmas. I thought Season's eatings as my sentiment might cover both occasions and they sound similar, I thought it's rather clever.

The colors on the other hand are very autumnal like. I've used Distress inks ( Crackling Campfire, Carved Pumpkin, Spiced Marmalade and Mustard Seed) on the card base fading to the lightest color behind the Turkey.

The image is a digi stamp from Whimsy Stamps and Dustin Pike and I 've added the sentiment in Photoshop, printed it oud, colored the image with Ohuhu markers this time and then cut it out.

I thought the bottom white could be a table cloth, so I added shading underneath the bird, then moutned it to the cardbase with tape runner.

AAA Birthday Cards Challenge November: Favorite Image #67

Hello, this month we're all about our favorite image and it had to be a cat didn't it?

I particularly love this "meh" looking cat from Katzelkraft's Les Chats Russe, esp together with the Snarky sentiment from Clearly Besotted (Laugh out loud again)

I stamped both with Versafine black ink om Waterart watecololoring paper and then colored the image with Karin Markers, I;m rather new to that and I think my paper isn't the best watercoloring paper and it's fine on small bits, like the eys and purple, but the grey looks a bit patchy to me.

I might redo it or not, depends how I feel about it in a couple of days ;-), maybe it just needs to dry properly overnight?

Whimsy Stamps Halloween hop with Studio Light

I've used the plywood frame rectanlge for my shadow box. I started by painting it all black, let it dry, touched up bits I missed and then added blues and purples to the sky over the black, probably not as effective but you can kind of see it in real life. Then I diecut all the shapes from black cardstock. And for th emoon, stars and cat's eyes I've used the Studio Light Glow in the dark foil.

The moon is is from the Whimsy Stamps Howling Night dieset and it's a textured die, much like the rock, but on the glow in the dark foil it doesn't show as much, a normal circle dieset would work fine too. There's also a very similar stampset if you prefer. I've also used the howling wolf, the rock and graveyard border.

The Whimsy Build a graveyard set gave me the tombstones, cat, skulls, bats and I did diecut the fenc, but didn't use it in the end.

The Reaper is from Roaming monsters.

I diecut the skulls from white card and with my inkblending brush and Distress inks I made them "dirty" and worn looking (I hope).

Put my frame together and adorned all the pieces. Placed the Whimsy Digi of Frank 2 on top, like he's stealing a brain from the graveyard and scared the cat.

I've strung some fairylights through the frame, just so the different layers are lit up, I mean I love black, but I also need to see all my components ;-)

AAA cards Challenge #277: Anything CAS goes with the option of Halloween

Hello, this fortnight we have an Anything CAS goes challenge again. The optional twist is Halloween.

Although I took inspiration from the game badge , I made it into a Happy Birthday.

I've used Orange as it's my friend's favorite color and a stamp she gifted me.

The cat is from Craft EmothionsL5010 Kitty & Fish.

For the background I've inkblended Distress inks Carved Pumpkin and RIpe Persimmon through a stencil I made and then splattered with Lawn Fawn Liquid Stardust.

Stamped the kitty and sentiment on top with Versafine black ink. Let is dry, filled in the nose and eyes with a white gel pen as the orange background came through.
