- Dragon Current is similar to Dive and Whirlpool.
- Gyarados is the only Pokémon to not feature a promotional art based on itself, but rather its pre-evolution counterpart, Magikarp.
- Gyarados' artwork is based on the BWS01, albeit without the glowing red aura, when it uses Outrage in the river.
