Nightwood

Nightwood is a type of black tree found in the known world. It is unknown if there is a connection with the ebony of the Summer Isles, the ironwoods of Westeros, or the black-barked trees of Qarth.
History
Sandoq the Shadow carried a tall black shield of nightwood, boiled hide, and iron.[1]
