Moredo Rogare was a scion of House Rogare, a Lysene noble banking family.[2] He was the fourth of six trueborn sons of Lysandro Rogare.[N 1]
Appearance and Character
Moredo was a tall and stern man with white-blond hair and blazing blue eyes. A soldier, he carried the Valyrian steel longsword Truth. Unlike his younger brothers, Roggerio and Lotho, he was not fluent in the Common Tongue.[2]
History
In 134 AC, Moredo and his brothers, Roggerio and Lotho, accompanied their sister, Larra Rogare, when she came to King's Landing to live at the Red Keep with her husband, Prince Viserys Targaryen. Moredo was the commander of his sister's guards.[2]
The Iron Throne respected all the conditions for Prince Viserys's return, as negotiated between Lord Alyn Velaryon and Lysandro, these included granting lordships to Moredo and his two brothers.[1][2]
A war of succession broke out in the Vale of Arryn after the death of Lady Jeyne Arryn, and the killing of King Aegon III Targaryen's regent, Ser Corwyn Corbray. Lord Thaddeus Rowan, Aegon's Hand, gave Moredo the command of the army carried with the Velaryon fleet to the Vale. It was a very poor choice as Moredo was not fluent in the Common Tongue and had great difficulty communicating with his Westerosi men. He lost hundreds of men taking the harbor and city of Gulltown.[2]
When word of the fall of House Rogare reached Gulltown, Moredo yielded up his command to Lord Alyn and sailed for Braavos.[2] Once in Braavos, he treated with the keyholders of the Iron Bank and recieved gold from them. He then used the Braavosi gold to hire ships and swords in Tyrosh, and prepared to attack Lys in retaliation for what happened to his family.[2][3] Archmaester Gyldayn does not go into the details of Moredo's attack in his book, however.[2]
In 138 AC, Moredo interred the bones of his dead brother in the family crypt.[2]

Notes
- ↑ Lysandro sent his three youngers sons to King's Landing with Larra (Fire and Blood, Under the Regents - The Voyage of Alyn Oakenfist). Of these three sons, Moredo is known to be the eldest (Fire and Blood, The Lysene Spring and the End of Regency), thus making Moredo the fourth son of Lysandro.
