Wednesday workings - LE

I thought I had better get a wriggle on and start part 3 of the lovely L.E BOM.

                                                          Un-ironed, looks dreadful lol

This is such a pleasure to work on, I love the shapes and colours.

I have also been putting together a small wall quilt for my gorgeous daughter, Vanessa's bedroom.

I used the "Scrapped" blocks from my first attempt at the Morrell Quilt.
Don't ask me why I didn't like them, I like them just fine now ;)
Any who, I think they look lovely and quite Victorian in this little quilt.

I have been stealing stitches on Miss Matty's Parlour every chance I get. I'm onto stitching the second round, which is pink. It is coming along nicely and is really great fun to put together. I hope to be able to post more pics in the next few days.

That's it from me.

Keep on stitching,
Kel.

Wednesday workings

Being my birthday I thought I would work on something simple and easy, no fiddly bits just whip stitching and relaxing, letting the kids take care of me for a change !
What better way to spend a day than to spend it stitching the beautiful Miss Matty's Parlour.

By Megan Carroll

I hope you find the time today to stitch and be with your loved ones.

Till next time,
Keep on Stitching!

L.E Update and New Quilts !

It's been nearly two weeks since i last posted. I have been sick with what i thought was glandular fever, but i think it was just some chesty virus. I am feeling alot better now though hence the new post !   :)

I appliqued the gorgeous little petal flowers on the L.E quilt. They were Hard !
To get those points to all line up was maddening. I managed to achieve a level of acceptability and am now moving on to piecing the borders English Style.

Its already looking so pretty, i cant wait to add those lovely vases full of blooms!
Am keeping the border scrappy and going with the light dark contrast.
I'm really loving this quilt and cant wait till the 15th :)

Alot of ladies are doing the Mrs Beasley's Sampler. It is a hard one to resist so i bought a copy of Vignette number 10 and away we went.

Leanne's version is lovely
I love embroidery and i do have a few quilts with predominantly embroidered blocks. However i love applique more, lol, and decided to try my hand at this pattern substituting the embroidered bits for applique.

Block 1 complete, all sewn together.

Moving on.....

It is my birthday on the 21st of this month and my lovely, caring parents bought me 3 new patterns !!!

Behold......

Worthing downs is an inspired take on the sundial coverlet by Megan Carroll

Isnt it amazing looking. I cant wait to start this one.
Miss Matty's Parlour is another beauty inspired by the Frederica Josephsons quilt, also by Megan Carroll.

I have made a start on the centre of this one (naughty aren't i )

As soon as i can find some suitable background fabric i think i might add a block or two of the brides quilt to my growing to do list as well.

I finally finished off the Sunburst Star block from my Daughters Morrell Quilt.
Pheeew.
This one was hard and I'm not overly happy with the outer points, but too bad I'm not redoing this one  :)

Thats it from me.
Keep on Stitching,
Kel.
